When we start a new venture, it is vital to have all the information, training, skills and business acumen necessary to be able to move steadily along the course developing each step progressively without interruption. Usually one step in a business cycle is dependent upon the next. Just as the foundation is necessary to underlay prior to mounting the joists and the beams when building a house, so to you must construct your business with solid footing.

One of the key elements, writes Napoleon Hill, is to have a network of people-really experts- that you can tap into as resources to build your business model. This group of people will be specific to your industry, your vision and goals. Choosing these people will give you the benefit of wisdom and experience beyond your own.

The number and type of people you choose ought to be related to the needs of your business. For example, if you are in a highly technical or scientific field, then you may need more technical specialists. Whereas if you are in say the party planning industry you may need many people of great variety of specialties but not necessarily scientists or technicians.

Where to find these people is another matter. Go to your alumni association meetings, attend church events, local groups sometimes called TIPS, usually have a great number of people in all areas of endeavors. Business meeting groups or Meet Ups, Networker groups, forums on the internet are all good resources to check out to find like minded people. Another idea is also to scan YouTube videos and see what people are doing what things and then try to find a group to meet them at. Sometimes you can leave comments in reply boxes. Perhaps they will respond if they are interested in your idea. You may even try your banker, lawyer, dentist, doctor, or grocer. They may be interested in another venture.

These ideas that Napoleon Hill expounds upon are good once you have a definite idea and plan worked out. First steps first. Get your ducks in a row!
