Does article marketing really work?

Many individuals spend their time on several different mediums for their online marketing efforts and one of these is article marketing. It's really common to hear friends ask - so does article marketing really work? Does it bring in the leads? Should I put in effort to create these articles? And my answer to that is always a definite YES...

So how do we answer the question - Does article marketing really work? To better understand this question, let's look at these areas. Let's take a look at articles as compared to other mediums of marketing.

Articles VS PPC - Although PPC ads are fast, easy and effective, they can also be extremely expensive. Additionally, most of these advertisements appear as sponsored links which might not appeal to some individuals. Article marketing on the other hand is generally free and if done right with SEO, there is a high probability that it will end up on the first few pages of the natural search, which gives any marketer a HUGE advantage.

Articles VS Video marketing - Video marketing is an extremely useful tool to help you drive traffic BUT the only problem is that many people are afraid of putting themselves out there for the world to see. The main advantage that article marketing has over video marketing is that you do not have to present yourself through a video but through your words instead.

Articles VS Social Media - Social Media involves building up relationships and friendships that require rather long periods of time. Article marketing allows you to target your audience and get their attention right away. People do not really have to know you too well before deciding to head to your site to learn more.

So if you judge for yourself, does article marketing really work? I would say that you should more or less know the answer by now, BUT I'm not going to end here, let's check out some additional advantages of article marketing.

I hope that the article above has given you some insight on whether article marketing really works. Feel free to use the information above and share is with your other friends. If any of your pals or contacts come asking you the question:"Does article marketing really work?" you can simply give them this site's URL or, tell them what you have learnt yourself!

Re: Who Said Twitter Doesn't Work...? Re: Who Said Twitter Doesn't Work...? - Almost any marketing method CAN work for anyone depending on a number of factors. But I consider a good marketing method to be one that works for the majority of people all the time (as long as they are doing it correctly). An example of that would be article marketing. Twitter, on the other hand, is something that does not work well as a marketing method for the majority of people, even though so many people want it to work so badly that they try to convince everyone that it does. I've yet to hear from even one internet marketer I know that the traffic they get from Twitter converts into money in some way on a regular basis. Yeah it happens on occasion but nothing compared to several other marketing methods that work for years to come such as link building, SEO, article marketing, etc... I still need more convincing before I start drinking the Twitter kool-aid as a marketing method. I have nothing against Twitter. I do have two accounts there and I get on almost every day for a little bit. But it just isn't good for business... At least not business as far as most of us here are concerned, which is internet marketing, affiliate marketing, Adsense, and a few other similar monetization methods.
Re: Article Marketing Re: Article Marketing -
AM is pretty overrated. it's great if you're actually writing articles people want to read and that's one of the main goals of your business, but otherwise, it's not going to be too effective in driving in traffic to your site if your product isn't totally related. you cant write promotional articles on most article submission sites.[/quote:324gc7v0] Actually, that is what is so good about article marketing and the work Google does to provide better search VALUE. Quality of content and relevance are two of the keys to successful article marketing. That's just how it should be.
Scoping Your Articles for Ghostwriters Scoping Your Articles for Ghostwriters - Martin, can you advise your process for scoping out the work for article writing. specifically, 1. How do you scope the boundaries of the article? (is it by the Keywords?) 2. How many keywords do you provide to the ghostwriter for an article of a certain size? 3. How do you measure quality? (is it just your impression that the article is good)? 4. Who owns the article? 5. How do you know that this article is not published elsewhere on the Internet? Thanks
Re: Online Article Marketing - Free & Done Correctly Re: Online Article Marketing - Free & Done Correctly - Hi, I do several things with article marketing. I write my own articles, have articles written and rewrite PLR articles. If it was up to my writing ability alone I would have a hard time with 1 article a week. Rewriting PLR articles using keywords I choose is my first choice. It does take a little time to pick an article to rewrite because I want them to be topic for my website plus they need to written well. Even when rewriting articles if an article does not flow well it will take much more work to rewrite it. Many online marketers only submit their articles to a select few article directories. It works well for them. I have a dual purpose in article writing and need my articles to go to as many directories as possible. My number one purpose is to create backlinks. If I only submitted 3 articles a week to 5 directories they would not help much in creating the backlinks I need. My second purpose is to draw traffic to my site. Again, and in my opinion, if I submitted to just a handful of sites I feel I would be defeating my purpose. So I had to find a program that would submit to a lot of directories and one that also submitted to quality directories. I found what I needed with one submission service. Now each article can bring 60-70 backlinks and I see weekly visitors from several article directories in my stats. That is my article marketing strategy and it has been working for me.
Re: How do you make the most of your day? Re: How do you make the most of your day? -

Hi Everyone, I need lists and a schedule to stay focused when I work. If I have no list and no agenda, I will spend hours surfing the net, without doing any work. I asked this question on another forum, an I want more answers. Would you mind sharing your daily schedule with us? here is an example: Monday: 4pm-4:30pm visit forum1 4:30 pm-5pm visit forum 2 5pm-5:30pm write 1 or 2 articles 5:30pm-6pm post to blog 6pm-6:30pm submit links to link directories 6:30pm check status and email Tuesday: 4pm-5pm submit 1 or 2 article to article directories 5pm-5:30 pm bookmark blog post 5:30pm-6pm visit 1 forum 6pm-7pm surf for credits 7pm check status and emails So do you mind sharing?[/quote:1vzj5fgw] Interesting so are u working as a SEO or content writer[/quote:1vzj5fgw] Hi Daniel, No, I am not working as SEO or content writer, but it is my main marketing strategy. If we (internet marketers) like it or not, SEO and content is the main ingredient of our marketing efforts, they are bind together and when you write, you must use SEO, if it is article marketing, blogging, forum marketing, etc. If you want to achieve your goals by adding useful content SEO must be a part of it, especially if you are new and there is no one to push you forward, or pay for your advertising.
