Why use article marketing in developing your online business? This is a very common question and a valid one at that. If you think about it, we understand why this question is regularly asked.

Firstly, for any good article marketing, you will first need to have writing skills. If you do not have this skill, you are definitely at a disadvantage. For those that have this talent, congratulations but unfortunately, many of us don't. But don't fret, because the good news is that many successful online marketers have the same problem. They do not really know how to write good content, so how do they get around this problem? Well, they simply hire ghost writers to write articles for them. They pay a fee and select a topic and keywords and the writer starts to work on the articles.

So you ask, if I still have to incur additional expenses? Why use article marketing when one if it's main advantages it the fact that it should be free? Well, don't get me wrong, you do not HAVE to hire writers to do the work for you. Alternatively you can always learn the skills required to write an article. There are loads of articles out there on the internet, just grab a few and start reading and learning how to phrase and write your own articles.

Some tips to writing an article:

• 1. Come up with a keyword and topic.
• 2. Write out exactly what your article is about in a single paragraph (Intro)
• 3. List down 3 to 5 main points that you want to being across (Main Points)
• 4. Write 3 to 5 sentences on each point (Elaboration on each point)
• 5. Write a conclusion to the article (Conclusion)
• 6. And tada! You have your article.

Just get down to trying it out! Once you are on your way to writing articles, you'll begin getting the hang of it and in time, writing an article should be a simple feat for you.

Now let's look at some of the reasons why article marketing is an extremely useful medium.

• 1. Article marketing is generally free - No costs involved in writing and posting these article on the internet.
• 2. With proper SEO, there is a good chance that the article can be listed on first page natural searches - If you managed to get an article to target the audiences that you desire, you will definitely do well.
• 3. Articles posted stay there forever - Once you post an article, they are like real estate purchased on the internet for FREE!!
• 4. The more articles you have, the more back links you can create to your site - Search engines use back links to determine your sites' value and ranking, with more of these, your rankings will definitely increase.
• 5. With more articles, your personal branding and credibility increases - Articles allow you to create a kind of portfolio for yourself. When people search for you, they might come across other articles that you have written and these will increase your personal branding.

As you can see, article marketing provides its share of advantages and hopefully the points above effectively show that to you. The article should now have thoroughly answered the question - why use article marketing?

Re: Who Said Twitter Doesn't Work...? - Almost any marketing method CAN work for anyone depending on a number of factors. But I consider a good marketing method to be one that works for the majority of people all the time (as long as they are doing it correctly). An example of that would be article marketing. Twitter, on the other hand, is something that does not work well as a marketing method for the majority of people, even though so many people want it to work so badly that they try to convince everyone that it does. I've yet to hear from even one internet marketer I know that the traffic they get from Twitter converts into money in some way on a regular basis. Yeah it happens on occasion but nothing compared to several other marketing methods that work for years to come such as link building, SEO, article marketing, etc... I still need more convincing before I start drinking the Twitter kool-aid as a marketing method. I have nothing against Twitter. I do have two accounts there and I get on almost every day for a little bit. But it just isn't good for business... At least not business as far as most of us here are concerned, which is internet marketing, affiliate marketing, Adsense, and a few other similar monetization methods.

Re: Online Article Marketing - Free & Done Correctly - Hi, I do several things with article marketing. I write my own articles, have articles written and rewrite PLR articles. If it was up to my writing ability alone I would have a hard time with 1 article a week. Rewriting PLR articles using keywords I choose is my first choice. It does take a little time to pick an article to rewrite because I want them to be topic for my website plus they need to written well. Even when rewriting articles if an article does not flow well it will take much more work to rewrite it. Many online marketers only submit their articles to a select few article directories. It works well for them. I have a dual purpose in article writing and need my articles to go to as many directories as possible. My number one purpose is to create backlinks. If I only submitted 3 articles a week to 5 directories they would not help much in creating the backlinks I need. My second purpose is to draw traffic to my site. Again, and in my opinion, if I submitted to just a handful of sites I feel I would be defeating my purpose. So I had to find a program that would submit to a lot of directories and one that also submitted to quality directories. I found what I needed with one submission service. Now each article can bring 60-70 backlinks and I see weekly visitors from several article directories in my stats. That is my article marketing strategy and it has been working for me.
Re: Article Marketing - No doubt, Article Marketing is a smart way to collect do follow, one way quality back links for your site. You can promote your business with article marketing easily. However recent updates in Google Algorithm has pushed article marketing a bit down still it's a good resource to promote your business online.

Quality of content and relevance are two of the keys to successful article marketing. That's just how it should be.
