Internet Home Based Business--Always Use Caution in Choosing the Right One for You
This article is about starting an Internet
home based business. But first let me clear up this myth about the Internet
and how you can make money overnight, in a few days or weeks. You've seen the
slick ads that look good and very convincing. Think about it first and then
think about again before you accept any opportunity. Of course this is after
you have done thorough research on the company and its opportunity.
The fact is that making money overnight on the Internet is not reality. Think
and use plain old common sense to see what is wrong with that picture. There is
no secret to making money on the Internet but you will not get rich overnight. You
have to do it the old fashioned way; WORK for it and over time you will
succeed.
Less than honest individuals and companies are making millions of dollars
selling you the dream of making money without working for it.
Open your eyes to what they are doing. Sure, you can read the copy and read
the offer, but keep in mind the ad copy is designed to get you to buy right NOW
without doing any research about the product or service being offered.
So now you have read the latest and greatest money making offer ever
presented. Now, STOP! Do some serious research on the company that is offering
a home business opportunity. Take as much time as you need to do this, then
when you accept the home business opportunity you will be doing it with your
eyes wide open and you know everything about.
Folks, this is the only safe way to search out a legitimate Internet home
business opportunity. It may not be 100% full proof, but at least you have done
what the overwhelming majority of people on the Internet do not. If you never
did your homework before, it is in your best interest to do it when you are
considering a business opportunity or regret it later.
Interruptions and disturbances from family while working from home must be
avoided. Remember, this is your business, not just another job where you were
making someone else rich. You are the boss and your success or failure with
your business depends totally on you. It is paramount that you have a separate
room in your house strictly for your business. You will benefit greatly from
doing that at income tax time.
When you do accept an Internet home
based business opportunity, be prepared to work hard. Probably much more
than you did with your previous traditional job. You must be self-disciplined, motivated,
dedicated and have a strong desire to succeed in achieving your goal of
financial freedom. Your resources must include a computer and a broad band Internet
connection and at a working knowledge of personal computers and the Internet.
Be prepared to be in a constant learning mode because the Internet is evolving very
fast.

I was inspired by Mr. Bill Gates ever since I was a student learning Computers. But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet.
Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology.
I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. So I took over to the Internet as my primary business.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It?
- HI,
I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business.
It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
