You will be required to have self-discipline, motivation and a burning desire to build a profitable home business leading to financial freedom. As a business owner you must be committed to hard work and dedication. Unlike your traditional job, you are totally responsible for the success or failure of your business.

Even though there are many opportunities for home business entrepreneurs, it has its downside. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of starting a home business:

Advantages include:

• Being in charge of your financial future

• Allows you to spend quality time with your family

• Eliminating transportation costs, long commutes to an office and a strict dress code

• You can set your own work schedule

• You are the boss and the buck stops with you because you are the final decision maker

• IRS allows tax breaks or benefits as a legitimate business operating on the Internet from home. You receive the allowances as any business online or off line

Disadvantages include:

• It will take from 1 to 3 years before you generate enough income to support you

• You will work 12 and 16 hour days

• There is no paid vacation or sick leave

• No Health Insurance

• You will need enough money to live until you generate significant income

These are just a few of many advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, you are the one who has to make an informed decision about starting a home based business opportunity based on information provided here and more detailed research on your own.
