5 Reasons Why Baby Boomer Professionals Make Great Network Marketers - By Bob Clarke

You can achieve every last one of your dreams! Now that's a bold statement to make, but the truth of the matter is that you can indeed find success like you've never before imagined by relying on proven goal setting techniques for guidance and encouragement along the way. These 3 steps to achieving your goals really do work when used faithfully:

1. Choose Attainable Goals

Be lofty with your dreams, but realistic with your goals. Want to make a million dollars? Great-you can absolutely do it, but set a goal to do it in, say 5 years, instead of by next Tuesday.

Also, choosing appropriate goals takes some thought to ensure that you're playing in the right ballpark. For example, if you're looking to start your own business and become a major league player in your market-but you're also still working 50 hours a week as another company's employee-the appropriate goal would be to build a business on the side that will replace your employment as a primary source of income before setting a full-scale goal to dominate your industry.

2. Define Your Goals

Goals do little to no good at all when they're just a vague concept in your mind. To make your goals work, you've got to define them and put them on the record. Write your goals down...spell them out on paper. Write down your description of success, how you'll feel at that point, and make a list of baby steps that will get you there.

Again, start small-achieving your first results sooner than later is a good way to get the ball rolling. Goals that aren't clearly defined have this funny tendency to be forgotten (or taken much less seriously than they should be to achieve your dreams).

3. Measure & Track Results

A goal that's well defined will be precisely measurable-in other words, you'll be able to tell exactly where you stand towards reaching the summit. With this in mind, schedule a time in your day, every single day, to review and track your goals and the progress you're making towards attaining them. Perhaps create a spreadsheet...do whatever you have to do to visualize your successes.

The amazing thing about effectively setting goals and reviewing them on a frequent basis is that they become second nature. Your mind truly conditions itself to be goal oriented in everything you do...it's almost like subconsciously, you're just always making progress when you allow your goals to become a daily part of your life.

Using these 3 steps to setting goals, you'll be embracing the key components of any logical process: coming up with an idea and making a choice to do something about it, deciding how you'll go about it, and seeing the process through to completion. Do this and achieving goals is practically automatic!
