Nana Naps – Why Shift Workers Shouldn’t Have Them!

Are you a shift worker who absolutely loves your nana naps? Do you dream about sinking into your comfy sofa when you set foot in the door after a hard days work?

Then you’re certainly not alone! As shift workers, fatigue is the hardest thing to overcome because we’re pushing our bodies to do something that it naturally shouldn’t be doing. You see getting up and going to bed at crazy and irregular hours certainly isn’t normal.

Now back to the nana naps. If you’re a ‘Serial Nana Napper’ then don’t be alarmed – it’s actually not a bad thing, but if you come home after an early shift and you sleep for more than an hour, then you’re going to end up feeling worse.

You see I’m certainly not knocking a good nana nap. In fact I’m all for a good nana nap – so long as it’s no longer than 20 minutes.

“Just 20 minutes?” – I hear you say. Why only 20 minutes?

Well if you nap any longer, then you will fall into a deeper sleep which means when you do wake up, you end up feeling flat and disorientated, and a lot worse than you did before you took the nana nap. Another downside to a long nana nap is that you will struggle to have a good night’s sleep that night. Now this is not good.

So find a comfy spot in your house, whether it’s your bed or a sofa – then set your alarm for 20 minutes to rest those weary bones. Initially when that alarm clock goes off you will feel like throwing it out the window but rest assured (pardon the pun!), when you do get up you will be feeling much more refreshed and invigorated to tackle the rest of the day.

After all, just because you’re a shift worker doesn’t mean that you have to sleep your life away. Life is far too short to be doing that.

It's free and really effective! Tell everyone you know and get them to tell everyone they know and so on.[/quote:1uvgqaxl] Nana, With respect to your opinion because I wholeheartedly agree, how would you track your businesses are coming from "word of mouth" and ensure everyone is telling everyone about your business? Any idea you can suggest? Warmest Regards, Takuya
Re: Fear of going into debt Re: Fear of going into debt -
Do we have a seperate loan for younger entrepreneurs that won't have the potential to ruin their future?[/quote:dsrz5b35] Hi Nana, Can you be more specific? How much money are you looking to borrow? Because any loan you can't repay can potentially ruin your future (e.g. if you have a bad credit score, you'll have difficulty getting financing, a lease or a mortgage). And if you lose all the money given to you by angel investors like family and friends who believe in your idea, you'll also be in bad shape.

Daydream -> Imagine waking up in the morning, and plan every detail from the time you get out of bed to the time you come home from a long day’s work. Such reflection will allow you to mentally place yourself in your dream.[/quote:sni4tgb9] Hi Nana, I know from experience that nothing ever goes exactly as planned. So what happens if fail to check off everything from your to-do's list? Do you simply move those outstanding items onto your agenda for the following day? In our "daydreams", how many of us actually remember to allocate time for unexpected problems or delays?
Being kind this Christmas Being kind this Christmas -
My friend wants to go around the streets on Christmas night giving homeless people $20 bills. Maybe I'll tell him to start a fundraiser, find a few sponsors and hold an event instead? It could be for everyone who don't have a families to be with during Christmas? They can all get together on Christmas day and have some fun and get to know each other. (sort of like a little family?) It probably sounds better in theory though, lol.[/quote:ndy83sc7] Hi Nana, I think your idea is much better than your friend's for 2 reasons: a) It's not really safe handing out cash on the streets. If people know you're carrying a lot of $20 bills, you guys could get mugged. b) While giving homeless people $20 each is very kind, what's going to happen once they've spent it all? It's better to teach someone to fish than to simply give them a one-time fish. Maybe you and your friend could create a service to help homeless people get permanent employment??
