How To Use Articles To Start A Coaching Business
For anyone looking to start a coaching business you know one of the main challenges is client acquisition. By writing articles and including in them a hyperlink directed to your website, this is one strategy to overcome this challenge. The link should be included in what is known as a resource box as this is how you promote your business in articles. Ideally, you want to have the link display as a keyword or phrase for your coaching business. Like this:
"John Smith specializes in performance-based coaching for individuals looking to get the most out of their business or life. He is currently offering a complimentary personal coaching consultation that you can sign up for on his website."
("Personal coaching" is the keyword that would be a link your readers would click on to go to your website as this is one of the words you may want to target for a coaching business.)
Once your reader visits your website from your link, you need to provide him or her with a clear action step. Many people who start a coaching business offer complimentary coaching sessions, which you can offer on your website. When they sign up for their complimentary coaching session, if you offer a product like an ebook or physical book, you should offer them your product for sale.
Once you have written a number of articles, the next step is to start promoting them to all of the major article and ezine directories. There is a major reason why you want to do this. Website owners love to use free articles to share with their website visitors. They do not care if you promote your website in your resource box because they get to use your article. By doing this, it creates a one way backward link to your website for your keyword. The number of links like this that you have is one factor search engines use to determine your ranking.
So here is an overview of this strategy in a nutshell. To start a coaching business, you provide great article content and allow other website owners to use it. The only requirement is that they have to credit you as the author. This is where the resource box comes in, because it has your name as well as a link back to your website. As you continue to submit articles over the internet, you will have more and more links coming back to your website. For example, if one of your articles is used by 200 websites, that gives you 200 links that are going back to your website.
Keep in mind that the proper use of articles is one of the best strategies for generating traffic to your website. It is also vital to creating backward links for your keywords. These two steps are very important if you want to build a consistent client base when you start a coaching business.
