Online Webinars - Events Worth Putting on Your Calendar

Online webinars are internet based events. Events in and of themselves have advantages for the business owners that promote them. An event like a webinar has a set schedule. Anything with a set schedule is more likely to draw in people with a higher level of commitment.

One of the biggest benefits to holding an event is that it helps you to sort out your best prospects. Another benefit to holding events is that they help you to create reasons to buy now. By including scarcity, deadlines, time, limited quantity and fear of loss in your events, a higher percentage of your prospects will buy at the event.
Online Webinars have the added benefit of the entertainment factor. They have a much higher level of interest than other methods of engagement. People are more excited to get on a webinar than they are to look at a website. It does not matter if you consider yourself entertaining or not. While it helps, an entertaining speaker is not the major draw. It is the event of the webinar itself.
Webinars have the benefit of not being as common as other tools available. Everybody has received an email from an email list at some point in time. Many people have been on at least one teleseminar. However, only a minority of people have ever attended a webinar. This makes them still considered rare.
One of the things that make webinars such entertaining events is that they involve all the senses. When I run a webinar, people are watching me, they are hearing me, and they can interact with me if they so choose. This taps into the way most adults consume information today.
Think about it. If I want to know something, I do not pick up the phone. Most of us no longer read the newspaper. We may look at it for a few things, but by and large, Americans today turn on the TV or browse online to find their information. A webinar is just like controlled TV, which is why they are so effective in our society today.

Trent - the new category is "Social Network and Media" which was put in to compliment the Online Businesses category that currently exists. Overall the new categories are: - Looking For, Networking and Events - Review My... - Social Network and Media - Brags and Rants These came as a result of Ringo doing research on other forums and thinking about what could be improved on ours to give a better experience for everyone. I hope you enjoy them! David, I'm looking forward to reading your Brag / Rant!

Re: What is your Business? Re: What is your Business? - We are running a Online Marketing Firm and we have some good clients to which we are offering a complete Digital Marketing strategy like Search, Mobile Marketing, Branding and Design. I think in Online Marketing company online presence can be a wining factor for the success of the company.
iPhone 3G craze - Nope not me! iPhone 3G craze - Nope not me! - I bought the original when it came out - still love it (on most days). The Calendar is my best friend. I find it lack sound "loudness" - when it rings as well as the speech that comes through. Other than that I find it is a great conversation starter at Networking events and if I notice someone else with one we get great rapport built through ownership of this device. OK FINE! I'm quite sold on this device even though it lacks what others mobile phones can do.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - [quote:31qpen1j]This is just my opinion, but I consider the prospective categories, Online Marketing, Internet Marketing and Online Promotion, as being pretty much one and the same - just different words that different people use.[/quote:31qpen1j] I completely agree! Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned. And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.
