Practical Advice for a Strong First Year.
Getting started on the right foot in any new sales role or any home based business:
We have all heard the cliché "if you fail to plan you plan to fail". Well guess what, it's true. If your planning session is good, you will have a great week/month following. If it is not, well, this is where the insanity comes in. Before we talk about planning, let's look at the basics.
Attitude: Attitude is everything. If you think you are a winner you probably are. If you think you are a loser, you probably are.
Your attitude will determine your success in your home based business and in anything that you do.

Think that you are a $1,000,000 a year producer and you will be.

Your mind is unquestionably your most valuable possession. You may lose every material thing you own, but knowledge can never be taken from you. With it, you can earn a new fortune, build a new home, and buy anything you truly desire. No one else can control your thoughts; even the cruellest tyrant cannot force you to think about something you refuse to accept. When you make a deliberate decision to take control of your mind and feed it positive, constructive thoughts, you are on your way to taking control of your life. The thoughts you allow to dominate your mind will determine what you will get from life."

We all talk about a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) but we rarely hear about how to get one.
Here are some ideas as to how to achieve a PMA.
- 1. Find the fun in everything that you do. People would rather be around fun happy people. Make yourself that person. That is the first and most important step.
- 2. Surround yourself with fun and happiness. Create a happy home and work environment.
- 3. Be cautious as to what you let get into your head. Negativity breeds negativity. Happy and positive creates happy positive thoughts. You are a product of your surroundings so surround yourself with a winning environment.
- 4. Once you have become that fun happy person, only associate with likeminded individuals. If you have negative energy drainers in your life, remove them from your head space. Surround yourself with positive energy givers. Be an energy giver.
- 5. And finally - respond happy. If someone gives you negativity, you have to respond with a positive expression. Kill them with kindness as they say. Most people are miserable and want you to be miserable as well. If you can't change the people around you, change the people around you.
Suck it up Princess. It's the same for everyone and what determines your success is how you react to the given conditions. There have been many people succeed before you with exactly the same conditions. Go ahead, say this out load "If it's going to be, it's up to me."
Ego: If you have had some sales success in the past, you probably have a fair sized ego. That's Okay. It's not a bad thing provided you don't let it get in your way. Drop your ego at the door and open your mind to learning. The bigger the ego, the longer it will take to succeed in a new business. One of the main keys to success with your opportunity is to follow the system. Yes you have systems of your own but learn the new system first and once you have given it a fair shot, start implementing your own. In your first three months, hold back on your advice as to how the company should be run. Save that for your down lines once you have them in place and remember you don't know what you don't know.
Before you begin planning your week, create an environment where there are no distractions and no interruptions.
When planning your week you will want to start with the results in mind that you want to achieve. Once you have your weekly goal set, calculate backwards as to the activity that will be required to hit that goal.
First look at:
- 1. The total sales you want to achieve.
- 2. Number of people that you will have to talk to.
- 3. The number of phone calls you will have to make.
- 4. The number of face to face meetings you will have to have.
- 5. The number of presentations you will have to make.
- 6. The number of closes that you will have to attempt.
- Who is your target market?
- How will you reach them?
- Where will you network?
- Who around you can help?
- How can you create value for your new prospective clients?
- What types of sales calls will you do with each prospect?
Review your plan and then follow it.
Now get out there and take action! Make something happen like only you can!
