If you are thinking of starting a home based MLM business the first and most important thing to consider is how much do you want it and are you prepared to do what it takes to succeed in the very competitive world of internet marketing. Before going any further I urge you to do this – it will determine pretty much at the outset if you have what it takes to succeed.

You will need to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Small statement but it comes loaded with connotations. One of the main reasons why people fail to make money from online business is they don't have definiteness of purpose. Sure, you might think you want more money, more time, more holidays, more this, more that but you will need a lot more than want if you plan to invest your time, energy and money to succeed in a home based MLM business.

If you study any successful entrepreneurs you will see that they all have one thing in common – a very big reason to get up every day. Alongside this they have a laser-like focus, a vision and destination plan for the big prize!

“People don't plan to fail – they simply fail to plan.” How often have you hear this? Yet how many people fall into the trap of not planning.

Entrepreneurs have a sound operational plan – success leaves clues! It sounds simple enough but how often have you embarked on a journey only to find you have forgotten the map, there is a new road layout, you get lost taking an unexpected detour or you discover the journey is taking longer than you expected when you started. Some people will give up, worry about it and go home (the 97% who fail). An entrepreneur will alter course where necessary, find a way around the problems and keep going to make the journey happen – a true entrepreneur won't give up.

Entrepreneurs have a determined focus. Lack of focus is one of peoples' biggest downfalls in business. Focus is about keeping both eyes fixed firmly on the road ahead and following that road. It is only when something changes or goes wrong that you need to pull over to the side of the road and make adjustments to steer you back in the right direction.

Entrepreneurs have a strategic plan, the end result, the big prize. Your strategic plan needs to be measurable, achievable and very specific. Successful entrepreneurs have this plan locked firmly in place and refer to it on a daily basis. It's always at the forefront of everything they do in their business.

Your journey will not come without interruptions and your course will deviate often. You will change tack, go off in another direction and often end up on the path less traveled. Sometimes you will encounter huge holes in the road, circumstances that are out of your control and cannot be predicted. It will be your entrepreneurial response to these challenges that sets your apart from the rest of the pack.

So when you are considering your home based MLM business make sure the business opportunity you are considering offers you the training, coaching and support you will need to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. Asking quality questions before you jump in will save you a lot of time, money and effort. Anyone is capable of living the life of their dreams if you can understand and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. The challenges are many but the rewards are huge.

The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.

Level 1 - Doing something for the first time to succeed. Level 2 - Coming back from failure and not resting until you've regained success. The scares maybe deep. The wounds tender to the touch. But it will always be man's resolve or lack there of that defines the limits he is willing to go to, to gain or regain succeed. Books, audios, videos, courses, seminars, webinars, & etc. are important and I can't get enough. But nothing can take the place of what a man must decide to do, deep down within himself, if he wants to succeed.
