You have finally decided on a home based business and and you are very excited about starting, learning and making money from online business.

But do you know that one of the most bandied about sayings in the internet marketing industry that you hear time and time again is "it's a numbers game, the more people you call the more people will buy your business opportunity."

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.....if you are taught this and you believe it you will never succeed in your online business. Learn about what really attracts people to come into your team and learn about people - how they think and what they want and how you can help them.

The heavy hitters even in some of the best MLM companies, will tell you network marketing is a numbers game! If you are new to network marketing you will be asking - what is a heavy hitter?

A heavy hitter is someone that comes into your team, makes lots of sales and grows your business very quickly. This makes for a very large downline and you reap the benefits in commissions on the sales.

However, the retention numbers for the heavy hitters is not good averaging out at approximately 6%-7%. So the commissions are short-lived and so is your team member. Their teammembersjoined because they were persuaded against their will, they couldn't, or didn't know how to say no and the salesmen did such a number convincing them they would earn $10,000 in their first three months, they bought in lock, stock and barrel.

I personally know of a colleague who had to pay back $12,000 in hard earned commissions 12 months later due to people dropping out of her downline and company policy on refunds. Imagine that!!

What does that tell you about heavy hitters - BEWARE!! Heavy hitters will tell you that network marketing is a numbers game, the more people you target the more sales you get.

Network marketing is not about sales. It's about people. If you don't understand this, you will never succeed in the network marketing industry. People are not numbers! People have real dreams, goals, desires, families, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, grand-parents and kids of their own - just like you.

If you ever think you can start treating people like a number you will never succeed in network marketing. People are your product - pure and simple. It is your duty as a network marketer to do just one thing and that is assist others to achieve their dreams.

The people who buy your business opportunity deserve the best training and coaching by you - you have sold them a dream and your responsibility is to give them every tool, technique and training available to ensure their success.

Your network marketing business must be duplicatable for every person you bring into the business regardless of their skills and experience.

People will join your company not for your products, not for your services, not for the reputation or the company, not for the beautifully designed office building, not because the CEO is a family man and loves to fish.

No, there is only one reason people will join your business opportunity and it's very simple - because they believe in you and they like you.

Can consumers reduce the price of gas? - Hi Everyone, I just wanted to get your opinion on someone's suggestion that we as consumers can actually reduce the price of gas if we were to simply stop supporting the two biggest companies, Esso and Shell. The logic behind this "price war" theory is that if no one buys Esso and Shell gas, then they'll be forced to lower their prices and then the other smaller companies will follow suit as well. Is this a myth or is there actually any truth to this gas price reducing strategy?

Going after larger clients - Hi Rohan, It's tough to sell anything to small business owners and make a buck doing it - IT services included. The biggest challenge is that new businesses don't have a lot of startup capital (typically) therby making them very price sensitive. You want to go after the clients who can afford to pay you. How about specializing in growing companies and solving their IT needs? John, what is the typical sized business that your franchise goes after?

Like it did last summer or two ago here in Toronto when the gas stations started running out of gas due to the hurricanes down south.
