Search engines strategies. one of the most inexpensive way to optimize your internet marketing on the search engines is the use of keywords. Keywords are very crucial because search engines use robot spiders to index the content of your webpage.

Use keywords properly on your page title, description Meta tag, in the headers, in hyperlinks, and in the first paragraph of your body text.

2. Provide a search engine friendly navigation system on your website. Another way to enhance the visibility of your internet marketing is to make the search engine robots find all the pages in your business domain.

While JavaScript and Flash navigation menus are great, the search engines, however, do not read them very well. Hence, supplementing your JavaScript and Flash menus with HTML links at the bottom of the page is recommended.

3. Submit your site to key directories. Having a link from a directory is very helpful to earn high ranking during searches, hence, you get the exact traffic. Though link directories are not search engines, rather a hierarchical listing of sites, they are indeed effective because they sort sites according to category and subcategory. This way, the right consumers or the right traffic are led to your site.

4. Submit your site to trade organization sites. There are directories that concentrate on particular specialization such as the finance and entrepreneurship. Whatever industry your internet marketing belongs to, they have a link that is ideal for you. All you have to do is ask for a link, it may help boost your page rank.

One site that is useful is the SubmitWolf, it submits your listing to all appropriate directories. It also links to sites that require manual submission.

5. Issue Press Releases. As an internet marketer, your opportunities are vast; and so are your resources. One of them is to publish press release to web periodicals in your area of specialization. Find something that is worthy to publish. It could be product launching or any significant event.

When you submit your press releases to directories, your links are visible at the bottom, which can be used by readers to reach your website.

6. Write articles for others to use in websites and newsletters. You can increase the visibility of your internet marketing when you publish quality materials and submit them as free contents for some editor’s email newsletter, or for their own website. However, you need to tell the editors or webmasters to include publishing your links or resource box.

7. Encourage your visitors to bookmark your site. You can also ask them to include your site to their favorites. If your web contents are potentially good, they can bookmark your site, thereby, producing hundreds of links to your site and eventually raises your rankings.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
