The good quality leads are the ones that are free. Not only are they effective in translating into sales; they are responsive and targeted as well. How would you know that? Well, they have found you, went to your website and asked for your help.

In other words, they are interested in your offer. They gave you their contact details because they want more from you— helpful information on your products and services, and your best offer. Good quality leads are not bought; they are generated from different sources and strategies like the following:

1. Article marketing. It is one effective way of promoting your business. When done appropriately, it can drive traffic to your website. Writing articles related to your business or products is one of the most effective way and famous marketing approach of most online businessmen.

However, just like any strategy, article marketing has secrets to make it truly rewarding. There are four basic elements you need to remember whenever you approach your keyboard and start typing. First, ascertain the purpose of your article. Is it for visibility on search engines? If it is, then you have to focus more on quantity. You need your website or blogsite earns higher ranking during searches.

If you seek to establish a good reputation through articles, then do your best to come up with quality copies. Your purpose is to have your subscribers’ base expanded through worthy-of-your-time articles. Article marketing is indeed an effective way to earn good quality leads.

Second, ensure that you have a good command of English. English grammar includes the punctuation marks. Before you hit the send or publish button, review your work. Proofreading is important. Not only does it give a good indication of your authority; but it also gives your blog or article a professional impression.

Third, make use of the author’s resource box. From marketing perspective, your profile is very important. Besides putting your website, include a compelling call to action message; after all, the point of your articles is to drive traffic to your website.

Fourth, use the article directory submitter. There are websites or software that are designed exactly to distribute your articles to thousands of websites.

2. Social Networking. The social media networks are a good virtual platform to produce good quality leads. Networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and LinkedIn have features that allow you to connect to your customers, create a community which can be your target market, and promote your products and services.

Building social network that adds value to your community, and provides business opportunities for you is helpful. It should also accompany a strategic plan. A social network that is based on adding value should seek to increase the efficiency and frequency of your communication. It should also generate business opportunity. These two objectives must be continuing.

To produce good quality leads from social networks, your account should be focused on listening to your target market, and discussing with your target market or community their needs and demands. By listening, you are able to know their needs. By engaging in discussion, you are able to communicate to them the benefits of your products and services.

I've also used PR Leads (paid program) which got me into the New York Times and Forbes. I haven't done much with online press releases - from what I hear they can help you with your SEO but they don't get much mainstream media attention.
