You will find yourself a step ahead of the competition when you have great mechanics that attract the right prospects. Having good quality leads is not hard to achieve, if you know how to find them. Experts, consultants and successful online entrepreneurs rated the following strategies to be among the best.

1. Using third party articles, blogs and reports. There are copywriters and businessmen who allow their articles to be re-published on other sites. This is a good way to reinforce your offer and to build credibility. Choose the articles that are related to your niche, and are substantial.

There are also individuals who ask for payment of such articles for re-publishing. But if you can have enough time to locate third party articles that can be published in another’s site for free, it is best to prefer this option.

2. Pay per click marketing. Although this is expensive, it can be a great tool to produce good quality leads since the leads are already targeted. Pay per click is an advertising strategy that uses search engines to deliver qualified prospects to your website.

If you are not familiar with it yet, it is an online advertising in which you only pay when an individual clicks on your advertisements and visits your site. In order to use it, you need to create an account first. Once your account is created and ready, you can start making your text based advertisement.

Usually, the advertisement includes a headline and two additional short lines. Keywords are important component of your ads, which shall be shown next to your chosen search terms. You can choose the countries to which your ads are displayed. Hence, if you want to market to the local area, you can choose the country and city.

Choosing your keywords is the next thing to do. Use your niche in generating the right keywords for your ads. You can check out on keyword tracker to find out the search terms that most people use. After setting the keywords, you need to set your budget.

The budget should include the total amount that you are prepared to spend and the amount you are prepared to spend for every click. There are two factors that determine the placement of your ads. These are the amount that the bidder is willing to pay, and the quality of the ads and its relevance to the page linked to it.

There is no pressure in bidding; you can start at few cents. Base your amount on the resources of your business. You can always go back to it later if you want to change it. After setting the amount, the search engine will show the estimated position and the average number of people who will be attracted to your ads each day. So if your bid is at $0.10 per click and attracts 10 people, your bill each day is $1. You can set the amount you can spend each month. Once you have reached your budget, the ads will stop showing.

I've also used PR Leads (paid program) which got me into the New York Times and Forbes. I haven't done much with online press releases - from what I hear they can help you with your SEO but they don't get much mainstream media attention.
