Finding The Profitable Niche For Your Internet Marketing

Having your own niche that sells is truly rewarding. The chances of having good returns on your investment are high. With the birth of internet and marketing, the opportunities are wide, and the selections are many.

Since the search can be overwhelming, time consuming and sometimes, confusing, we deem that the tips we have provided here may prove helpful.

1. Start from knowing your qualifications and skills. It may include your education, capabilities, work experience and expertise. It is that which you are very good at; the field of interest that you have in your heart. The logic behind this theory is the fact that as you progress in your internet marketing, the demands change. And as the demands change constantly, the risks also evolve, making the online business challenging. By choosing a field in which you are well-versed can help you in many ways. It can give you a lift in establishing your authority and reputation as you know exactly what to do and what to impart to your target market. It is your expertise that can effectively drive the right traffic to your business domain.

2. When you have decided on your niche, then you have to make a list of keywords related to it. There are websites that offer free services to track the right keywords for every niche there is. Among the sites is the Wordtracker, which is a reputable site.

Know the synonyms of the keywords you have found; they are helpful particularly when you have different fields of expertise. It will be better if your list has 200 keywords or more.

3. Evaluate the internet on the resources and demand of such keywords. You can use a tool to determine the resources or the supply and the demand. The supply refers to the websites that contain such keywords while the demand is the number of times the keywords have been searched.

Estimate the ratio between supply and demand. Choose the keywords with high demands but with low supply or resources. From that information, you can infer that there is an established demand on something, however, only few websites are able to deliver the demands.

4. Appraise the competition. If you want to succeed in internet marketing, you need to have a business plan or marketing strategies to even out the competition and stand out among the rest.

Study the market and devise a mechanism that sets your internet marketing apart from the others. You have to aim for excellence, rather than the average.

5. Verify the value of keywords. Start from the keywords that produce the highest demand. Check the price of each keyword using sites such as Overture and Google AdWords.

You need to have a business concept that is profitable on your domain. Hence, pick the products offered through affiliate marketing, and which pay high commissions. You can also choose products which you can sell online from your website.

Internet marketing can be fun and convenient as you only work from home. Now that you have set your niche, it is time to work on driving traffic to your website.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach - Hi Julie, Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
