Getting leads is very important to online entrepreneurs that there are websites devoting their services specifically to generate leads for their customers. Companies, whether on the web or on the physical world, are willing to shell out few bucks just to get hold of such precious data.

There are many ways to generate leads using the internet. Here are few of them:

1. Creating and maintaining a website. This is by far the most common way that online business owners employ to come up with leads. If you have a website, you can lure surfers to your site, where they can obtain more information about your business.

If your website is attractive and friendly to navigate, visitors may not have difficulty finding the information they are looking for. This means to say that they will not leave your site disappointed. In your part, it means that your website has been successfully designed to make it easy for customers to find you.

To continually make your business domain an effective tool for generating leads, you need to make it informational. Provide useful and timely web contents. Your copies must be fresh, original and substantial. Put yourself into your customer’s shoe and base your web design and content from their perspective.

Establish the authority and image of your website by providing a Frequently Asked Questions section. Use this feature to promote your business and to provide answers that your potential customers may want to ask you.

Some consultants recommend having a mini e-shop on your website, so visitors will know the nature of your business. This will also optimize the generating leads campaign—by providing a means for them to purchase directly from the internet.

2. Voice Broadcasting. Voice broadcasting can be an effective tool to generate leads. It does not require hardware. If you have an access to the internet, you can setup your campaign to run automatically. You can set the campaign at a time convenient to your schedule.

This generating leads approach allows you to reach thousands of persons who will listen to your voice broadcasting message. If they are interested in your offer, they are given an option to contact you. All you have to do then is to return the calls from people who requested for more information.

Even when you are in a meeting or appointment, you can configure the voice broadcast technology to start sending voice messages so that upon your return, you can just check on your voicemail and return the calls from interested people.

In addition, you can program the voice message to be sent as “live” and speak with the potential clients then and there. Make it sure though that the message you are about to send is compelling enough so people who need your products would be encouraged to get more information.

I know for me that I would do something that I’m interested and passionate about. Otherwise the new venture doesn’t last for long. To know what is happening in your area and within your industry can help you make better decisions for promoting your product or service. Whether it may be time to change a product line or add more services to your business, you will be keeping up with the industry and making sure you are not missing out on opportunities. Also it’s a great way to network and promote within your trade associations and Chamber of Commerce. Simply write an article to contribute and it can be used as great public relations (P.R) for your business. Also I emphasise to have a well prepared business plan created before starting your business, because this will be your starting point. A business plan is useful for so many areas for your business from sourcing finance to implementing a growth strategy for the next 5 years. Once it’s written down, it will become a living breathing document that you can update and review over time. I’ve just finished preparing my business plan for this business which took nearly 3 weeks to complete but I can tell you that it is well worth the time and effort to do. Learn how to put your own business plan together and I can guarantee you that you’ll get finance and negotiate business deals much easier. I've also used PR Leads (paid program) which got me into the New York Times and Forbes. I haven't done much with online press releases - from what I hear they can help you with your SEO but they don't get much mainstream media attention.
