1. Gutter cleaning. The gutter requires cleaning as part of its maintenance. In many areas, gutter cleaning is required every three months to prevent serious damage on the gutter. Before and after winter, gutters need thorough cleaning.

The tools needed for cleaning the gutters are a ladder, garden hose, trash bag, and a pair of gloves. Armed with your cleaning tools and a van, you can roam around your neighborhood and offer your gutter-cleaning service with discount. If the homeowner is not present, you can leave flyers to their doors and make a follow-up the next day.

2. Parking lot cleaning. To start with this home-based business, you need to acquire business permit and zoning license and business tax. You will need a truck to transport your cleaning equipment such as sweeper slide-in unit, gas-powered leaf blower, and cleaning tools like gloves, goggles, ear plugs and breathing masks.

The equipment is not cheap. Hence, for a start, it is wise to rent such equipment whenever you have a client. You can make this as a part-time job and do your cleaning in the evening when the parking lot is vacant.

3. Upholstery cleaning. The upholstery is a sensitive material. Cleaning furniture of such material requires cleaning solutions which are strong for germs but safe for the material. Cleaning the upholstery is needed to maintain germ-free household.

To stay competitive, you can combine your primary service with a minor. For example, if your niche is carpet cleaning, you can offer to do upholstery cleaning for free. Besides cleaning services, you can also explore other home-based business opportunities such as:
