Home-based Business: Business Plan For Bayberry Candles

Bayberry candles make a good niche for your home-based business. Whether you are new to candle-making undertaking or have been doing it for months and years, you may still need a business plan for it.

Your business plan serves as your guide in running your business. If you are new to the business, you will really find business plans to be helpful because you can refer to them for your decisions in running and marketing your business. Experts say including successful business people, that you make fewer mistakes if you adhere to the principles of you business plan. Of course, there may be times when you have to make alterations to it to address changing demands.

When it comes to making bayberry candles, you have to consider few things for your business plan. First, is it your only niche for your home business? Bayberry candles, if you want the natural wax, can only be made during fruit-bearing season of bayberry shrubs because the wax comes from the berries. Unlike other shrubs, bayberries do not bear fruits all throughout the year. Hence, your home business may also be seasonal, unless you have other niche or sources of wax to make into candles.

But if bayberry candles are an addition to your existing candles, then, this is a good marketing tool. Most limited products are sellable, despite being a little expensive than other wax candles which are available anytime. Second, you have to know the sources for such wax. Is it available at the same store that supplies you with other waxes? If not, then you have to look for another. If you know someone who cultivates bayberry shrubs, maybe you can make a good business deal with him so that he makes your supplier.

Better yet, you can plant few shrubs in your yard, or rent an arable land for that. But this is for a long-term plan. You only consider doing it if your bayberry candles can enhance your home-based business. If you have already engaged in candle-making activity, then surely, you know different techniques, designs, styles and shapes of candles. There is no need for you to spend more cash enrolling in crash courses on how to make bayberry candles. What you can do though is a thorough research about the characteristics of the wax. What you need can be obtained if you have access to the internet.

Third, consider your marketing plan. If you have enough sources for this wax, and you are 100% sure you can make and sell them, then you have to inform your existing clients about your limited bayberry candles. Most people are familiar with them because it has been a significant part of American history. But for promotional sake of this limited edition niche for your home-based business, you can re-tell the history of these candles and their timeless significance. Perhaps, that can bring fresh memories back into them and make orders in advance. Study the marketing techniques that you will use this time. Having a good reputation of being a source of quality candles, this should not be difficult for you.

Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.

I will take a look, but hope that this video as number 1 in a series. It is unfortunate that these types of errors, the most basic of errors as you point out here are common to too many business plans, having reviewed a few hundred myself from both a development and funding perspective. As a mentor and workshop facilitator for Business Plan development for a number of start-up IT and multimedia companies, your presentation help support and show how the VC's see and evaluate a plan Shameful, that too many don't take the time to learn how to properly prepare, present and defend their plans.
