If you want to maximize your profits, wait until there are sale events in your area before you do a shop-‘til-you-drop' spree for your home-based business.

Of course, it is different when there is a demand of immediate gift baskets; in which case, you should know which stores have the cheapest merchandises, especially when you buy wholesale. If you can, avoid stocking edible foods because they easily perish. In addition, never purchase things that are not saleable such as holiday décor.

Setting up a home office is important too. Allot a small space for your table so you can organize your schedule and plans. There should also be enough space where you can work on your gift baskets. Having a storage room for your supplies-such as ribbons, cards, bows-and merchandises is equally important. Ensure that your storage room is safe.

The next thing to accomplish is the legality of your home-based business. Check on your local government for the Standard Operating Procedure for businesses such as making gift baskets. You may be required to secure business licenses. If you plan to include foods on your basket, inquire if you need to meet certain requirements pertaining to food and sanitation.

PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.

Is Easter the new Christmas? - I have no kids, and my nephew has been over in Germany for the last 2 years, and I'm not religious, so I haven't paid much attention to Easter recently. But the way I remember it - kids went Easter Egg hunting, and they got baskets full of chocolate eggs, and maybe a chocolate easter bunny. So a couple of days ago I went into my local Walmart, and as you enter they have shelf after shelf of material along the wall that is usually seasonal - gifts for Valentine's Day, Christmas, and so on. So, I saw gifts for Easter. What they were, were Easter Baskets, with huge gifts in them such as basketballs, or skateboards, or fairy costumes for girls - stuff like t hat, and they were selling for $14.95. And I'm thinking to myself, since when are kids given presents for Easter? Chocolate, yes, but expensive gifts that they shouldn't be getting except for birthdays or Christmas???
