Home-based Business Idea: Carpet Cleaning

Carpet cleaning is a home-based business that can be started even without your own carpet cleaning equipment. Admittedly, such equipment, which come in many types and variations depending on the kind of cleaning service it features, do not come very cheap, unless they are slightly used.

In cleaning carpets and rugs, you will need a vacuum cleaner, extractors, vacuum hose, dryers, and scrubber. There are cleaning machines that offer all types of cleaning like scrubbing, extracting, vacuuming, and drying. It can save you money, space and energy if you use it.

Some stores offer rental services for their cleaning equipment, if you cannot have your own for your home-based business. The payment is usually made upon the return of such equipment. However, there are certain shops that require 10-20% down payment. The rental fee of equipment is around $10-$20 depending on the length of time and type of equipment.

You will also need rags, brushes, gloves and carpet shampoos. Many carpet owners support the green environment campaign and prefer to use organic products. If you can find a store that offers discount price, it is best to become their regular customer.

If you have solved on the equipment issue, it is time to discuss your transportation. How are you going to take the equipment to your client's place? If you have a personal truck, you can convert it for business use.

However, if you don't have one yet, you can either buy a second hand in excellent condition or you can rent it. You can buy your own van when you have enough savings, which is not difficult to achieve given the good market for carpet cleaning.

Choosing a niche is important for some entrepreneurs. There are carpet cleaning businesses that serve commercial clients like buildings, shopping malls, stores, grocery shops, offices and more. If you want to work in residential areas, you may opt for residential carpet cleaning. But if you want to have more income, you can serve to both clients.

Even when you will be out most of the time cleaning carpets at the offices or houses, you will still need to set up your home office. This is especially true during the first few weeks of your home-based business when you are looking for clients.

Of course, you would like them to contact you to set for a schedule as it does not happen often to have a booking immediately when you make a cold call to a house or office. When you give your contact number to people, ensure that a woman will be the one to answer the call, using a standard business spiel.

Your home-based business has a professional and personal aura when a woman is on the other line to attend to a customer's call. By speaking a standard spiel for your home business, your clients would feel that your business is legitimate.

In some States, it is necessary to secure business license to operate and zoning licenses. If your State does not require you to obtain legal business papers, it would still work to your benefit if you have them. You can use your business license as a good marketing tool for your home-based business.

Help me name my moms business Help me name my moms business - I think Infinity Cleaning Services sounds better than Elite Cleaning Solutions... Why the Solutions? What is there to be solved? You simply get a rag with some Windex on it and wipe away.... plug the vacuum and Vac Away, get a mop and mop away. Stick to Infinity Cleaning Services... ICS sounds cool...
Help me name my moms business Help me name my moms business - My Mom is a dynamic entrepreneur and running several businesses. Recently she started a commercial cleaning business. I have thought of some name for my mom's cleaning business, but would like some other suggestions. I have narrowed it down to, either: Infinity Cleaning Services, or Elite Cleaning Solutions. Magnetic Ads - Biz Idea Magnetic Ads - Biz Idea - Attn Young Entrepreneurs looking for a Business Idea. This came to me while sitting in Traffic for about 1 hour while looking and laughing at ridiculous bumper stickers. Note: this idea is rough but will help get the idea-momentum going. Idea: Sell advertising on the back of cars in the form of reusable magnetic signs (about the length of 2 or 3 bumper stickers) Most people shouldn't have reservations to participating if they get a cut of the monthly fee you charge the company advertising and it doesn't hurt their car. An example of a Magnetic Ad: Geico: I saved 15% on my Car Insurance. Call 1-800-U-SAVE-15 You don't have to pay the cost associated with creating the Magnetic Ad because you will advise the company that this belongs to them and you can get them in touch with someone who created reusable magnets. So your basically managing two sides: 1. Company's that want to advertise 2. People in your neighborhood (to start) who will put the ads on their car. Bigger cars can have more than one ad. Happy Money Making!
