Trust is significant as many people use this in choosing whom to send their broken computers for repair. Techie persons may not need certifications to prove their skills, however, in most cases, certifications such as CompTIA A+ verify skills.

Certifications may not suffice as you also need to upgrade your computer skills. Depending on the State that you are in, you may find different requirements in setting up a home-based business. You had better check the local clerk's office for legal requirements such as zoning license and business permit.

Deciding on your niche simplifies your marketing strategies. Which market are you targeting? Some say that the residential areas are the best market. Nevertheless, residential market has tough competition. You can start serving in your local community and neighboring areas.

There are many ways to do computer repair. Home service allows you to visit the place of the client. Many clients prefer the home service as they find it difficult and complicated to untangle all the cables from the Central Processing Unit or CPU before it gets diagnosed.

Laptops and compact CPUs are easier to send to service center, particularly if it is just within the neighborhood. Another way to repair a computer is through remote access. This is made possible by internet connection and certain software to enable you to control the mouse and get access to your client's computer that is stationed at home.

The client may watch as his computer is maneuvered and repaired by someone who is not physically present with him. Your service charge depends on the type of service rendered. Normally, home services have higher charges than off-site service.

Besides the type of repair service, the complications of damage determine the labor price. Generally, fixing the computer is billed per hour. In order to be competitive, you may offer a lower diagnostic fee on computers.

As soon as you successfully diagnosed the computer problem, you can charge the client. If you were unable to diagnose the problem, there is no need for you charge them. Another way to win your client's attention is by offering free diagnostic, provided, they buy the replacement parts from you, in which case, you have reasonably marked up the price.

Advertising your home-based business is an effective approach to let people know of your skills. You can advertise on the local yellow pages or newspaper. The internet is a good medium to promote your business especially if you are patient in searching for online classified sites that offer free advertisement services.

The cheapest and one of the best approaches is the use of flyers and business cards, which you can distribute to residential doors or shops and stores.

Call 1-800-U-SAVE-15 You don't have to pay the cost associated with creating the Magnetic Ad because you will advise the company that this belongs to them and you can get them in touch with someone who created reusable magnets. So your basically managing two sides: 1. Company's that want to advertise 2. People in your neighborhood (to start) who will put the ads on their car. Bigger cars can have more than one ad.
