In case a neighbor visits you to inquire about your gutter-cleaning business, you will not hesitate to let him or her in as you would automatically usher her or him to your small home office. If you have a computer set and internet access, you can place it in your home office, along with fax machine or telephone, whichever you have. It is important not to spend too much on equipment that you will not need often.

Prepare a business plan for your home-based business. Gutter-cleaning does not have expensive startup cost. What you will need are strong ladder so you can have access to the roof and gutter, garden hose, trash bag, and pair of gloves.

If you find a power leaf blower, it would make your job done in less than an hour. All you need to do is walk along the edge of the roof while blowing leaves out of the gutter. Among your supplies, gloves and trash bags are the ones that need regular replenishment because the trash bags are not recyclable.

The gloves too are disposable as soon as they get worn out. Promoting your business is important because the public does not know yet about your gutter-cleaning service. Gutter-cleaning has a promising market.

Gutters, being the exterior drainage system of a house, need maintenance to prevent them from leading to serious problems in the future. It is not hard to find clients for your business when people know that you exist.

In promoting your business, you can use pamphlets or flyers indicating the services you offer. If you have skills in repairing broken gutters and related tasks, you can add them as a premium service if they hire you to clean their gutters.

You can also combine other cleaning business such as window-washing, gardening or snow-removal. Offering 5%-15% discount is a common but attractive marketing strategy, especially if your clients hire you for two or more services.

If you are a gutsy person, you can visit homes near your neighborhood and make a cold call. Tell the homeowner about your home-based business and offer a copy of your flyer so he would see your promo.

Once you have a client, do not hesitate to ask for referrals. Referral system is an effective marketing tactic. Having your own transportation is very important. It makes easy to find clients and it makes your business easy as you can go anywhere without much ado.

Your vehicle must bear the name and contact details of your home-based business. You can either paint them or use a vinyl letters and stick them to your vehicle. To entice more clients, purchase an insurance policy. Homeowners would be relieved to know that they will be covered in case you cause damage to their property.

Or when you have a fall or any accident from cleaning gutters, the homeowner will not worry about your medical expenses as your insurance policy will shoulder such expenses.

Call 1-800-U-SAVE-15 You don't have to pay the cost associated with creating the Magnetic Ad because you will advise the company that this belongs to them and you can get them in touch with someone who created reusable magnets. So your basically managing two sides: 1. Company's that want to advertise 2. People in your neighborhood (to start) who will put the ads on their car. Bigger cars can have more than one ad.
