You can either allot a small room in your house or apartment, so you can have privacy and silence when you do your internet research or make a portion in your room for your office table and computer. The latter premise is only desirable if you are single.

Even when the internet is the major source of your reference, it is still best if you have books at home where you can also base your research paper. On the internet are many virtual libraries that contain hundreds of information about thousands of subjects.

It is beneficial to your home-based business if you have folders containing links of specific topics. It will make your internet research easier, faster and more convenient. If you can bookmark a site or page, it will also work to your benefits. Such technique is advantageous especially for starters.

Corporations, internet marketers, business owners and those who are involved in medical, technical and legal are in constant need of internet researchers to answer questions about industry trends, mergers, competition, developments and about the market and economy.

Some clients are very specific about the information they seek. It could be statistics or subjective topics. Before you accept a project, it is best to know the type of information needed from such subject. If there is anything vague, it is wise to make clarifications by asking questions.

The challenge in internet research is verifying information. There are sites that are reputed to provide reliable and accurate information. These sites are mostly official websites of government, non-government organizations, libraries, and reputable companies and institutes.

Getting clients for your home-based business is not difficult. You can post your services on classified sites such as Craigslist, Equan and LimeExchange. Craigslist is the most popular international free classified site where prospects from the four corners of the earth meet.

You can also look up for potential clients from such sites. In other sites like LimeExchange, you will bid for projects. The clients also specify the qualifications they are looking for in an internet researcher. Along with your comprehensive resume, they may also ask for a sample of your research works.

There are two ways to earn income from home business internet research. You can either be a contractor or subcontractor. Contractors are mostly the winners in the bid. They deal directly with corporate owners, internet marketers and businessmen.

The projects are often given in bulk, which means that you can either do the task yourself, or you can hire other internet researchers and delegate the topics. Subcontractors do not have business dealings with the businessmen. Also, they neither bid, nor win in the bidding.

They receive tasks from contractors, who pay them per projects completed. The mode of payment for home-based business that provides services can either be through wire transfer or Paypal. Big time Web and IT related companies usually send payments through wire transfer if you become their employee.

Whether you are contractor or subcontractor, it is best to be ready with any mode of payments. For international transactions, Paypal is becoming popular. Signing up does not cost anything. What it requires is a valid e-mail address.

But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time.
