Residential clientele includes homeowners, apartment owners, condominium owners and those who have boats, yachts and suites. You can set the walls of nursery rooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and even bedrooms.

The business clientele includes offices, halls and venues from all industries. Schools-whether pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and high school-corporate and legal offices are among the areas that would benefit from wallpaper décor.

In doing this home-based business, it is wise to know which design is appropriate to which room. Today's trend is to customize the wallpaper design. If you are adept in making unique and original designs, surging to popularity is quick as your clients are happy to refer you to their network of contacts.

However, if you are not too confident in customizing wallpaper designs, you can still offer the options to have the photos of your clients be their wallpaper design. Other popular sources are paintings, posters or postcards, slides, and negatives that are 4X6 or larger.

There are many sites on the internet that offer conversions of such media and artworks into wallpapers and ceiling-to-floor murals. Some sites offer free quotation for every project. The startup capital for this creative home-based business is minimal.

You will not have to purchase the wallpaper yet unless your client demands so. What you will need at the beginning is a home office where you can work out your marketing plan, and receive and initiate business transaction. You will need a good set of computer and software, a broadband connection, office table and tele-fax machine or telephone.

For your marketing plan, it is best to have offline and online business promotion. For offline method, you can customize and print business cards and flyers for dissemination at shops and grocery stores. Your business cards and flyers should showcase some of your best artworks. You can allocate the back portion of your business card for your creativity.

For your online promotion, it is best to have a website. You can make a portfolio and post it on your website so your clients can view them. There are online sites that offer free services such as building your own website.

Design your site so your clients can contact you either through telephone, a toll free number or an e-mail. Offer free services such as quotation. Mostly, the charge for conversion of wallpaper design is by square foot.

If your clients do not want personalized wallpaper design but prefers the ones which are readily available on the commerce, then it is also wise to know which shops offer discounts for regular customers and bulk orders.

Registering your home-based business and having a sales tax number enable you to enjoy privilege such as wholesale prices from certain establishments.

PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
