Home-based Business Idea: Writing Resume

Writing resume is a home-based business that is really profitable especially that many Americans need them. In the recent years, the competition for finding a job has become tougher. Most corporate chief executive officers are interested in knowing more about the person before he or she gets hired.

The applicants today need to market themselves to the hiring officers that is why their resumes must be a presentation of their traits, capabilities and character, making them the most desirable for a certain position.

Writing resume does not need high startup cost, except if you do not own a personal computer or laptop, in which case, such item will be the most expensive investment you will make to get started with resume writing home-based business.

Having a good printer is a necessity as well as you will be printing hard copies of resumes for your clients. If you could allocate a small room as your home office, it is best. You will need quiet and clean space conducive to your work.

Also, you will meet clients in person to initiate interview on their character, background and special skills which will be the contents of their resumes you will be preparing. If you already have your own landline at home, maybe you can set up an extension line to your office.

Clients will start to call as soon as your promotional campaign started. If you are already a copywriter or freelance SEO writer, preparing resumes will not be as difficult as it may seem to appear. However, if it is your first time to experience home business, with resume writing as your choice, then you have to know the basics.

You can browse the internet for various styles of format. There are many books on how to write effective resume with different styles. You have to know which style fits a resume. The tips are very helpful in teaching you what to include in your work experiences.

The books also provide guide on how to make an attractive resume even for first time job hunter like graduating students, recently laid-off from work or changing career.

Resumes must be devoid of grammar and typographical errors. Any misspelled word or wrong verb used can affect the employment chances of the applicant. In addition, you must be careful in what you put on a resume. Not only should it look pretty; it should also present why the applicant or your client is the most qualified for the job.

Then you work on promoting your resume writing home-based business when you are ready to work. Start writing resumes for your family, friends and officemates and ask for referrals. Ask their permission to include their resumes on your portfolio. Your clients are interested to see some of your works.

You can disseminate business cards and flyers at your local employment services offices and libraries. Every end of semesters, graduates carry on the task of getting employed, you can also target college job placement offices to get referrals for your home-based business.

Charging policy is important. For newly operating home-based business, it is important not to charge too high for your clients. Ask around so you will have inkling on how much your competitors are charging their clients for resumes.

Magnetic Ads - Biz Idea Magnetic Ads - Biz Idea - Attn Young Entrepreneurs looking for a Business Idea. This came to me while sitting in Traffic for about 1 hour while looking and laughing at ridiculous bumper stickers. Note: this idea is rough but will help get the idea-momentum going. Idea: Sell advertising on the back of cars in the form of reusable magnetic signs (about the length of 2 or 3 bumper stickers) Most people shouldn't have reservations to participating if they get a cut of the monthly fee you charge the company advertising and it doesn't hurt their car. An example of a Magnetic Ad: Geico: I saved 15% on my Car Insurance. Call 1-800-U-SAVE-15 You don't have to pay the cost associated with creating the Magnetic Ad because you will advise the company that this belongs to them and you can get them in touch with someone who created reusable magnets. So your basically managing two sides: 1. Company's that want to advertise 2. People in your neighborhood (to start) who will put the ads on their car. Bigger cars can have more than one ad. Happy Money Making!
