There is an established market for children’s party organizers. Most parents are busy doing the organizing and preparation themselves that they are willing to hire someone who could turn their children’s special day into a memorable experience.

Children’s parties are varied. There are parties for birthday, graduation, baptism, holidays and more. Each party is characterized by a theme. Now this part is critical as kids have their own taste of fun. You must be creative and have lots of ideas.

Some kids love fantasies, hence, you can design a fantasy-world party with matching paraphernalia, accessories and decorations. There are also children who get bored with clowns and magicians. Superheroes are popular among kids. Many parties have themes patterned after their favorite superheroes and heroines. If you are planning for a puppeteer party, you must know someone who is good at it.

The secrets to success in this home-based business are having the right attitude and knowing what kids want. As children’s way of fun varies, it is wise to have constant communication with the celebrant’s parents.

Having a network of contacts relevant to children’s parties is important. You can come with a business contract or agreement with suppliers of equipment and accessories such as sound system, tables, chairs and balloons. If you are a regular client, you can make an agreement to give the full payment after the party is over.

You need to check with your local government if small scale home-based business such as organizing children’s parties requires business permits to operate. If it does, it is imperative to follow the State’s policy. Having permits and licenses works to your advantage as parents are given assurance that you are not a scammer.

Setting up your home office is not so much a difficult task. Nor is it costly. All you need is a small room where you can work on your plan. You may also need an internet connection, a computer set, office table and chair, and sofa for your clients.

Children’s parties are not a one-man job, one-sided task to accomplish. To have a clear picture of every theme you can provide to children, you should have your own portfolio. You can also ask from your regular suppliers free brochures about their products and services.

For example, from your balloon suppliers, they can give you a brochures copy or portfolio on the kinds of balloons they offer. Photos of tables, chairs and the themes are also important to attract the attention of your clients.

Food catering is another component of children’s party that you need to work on. Depending on your clients, some prefer that you take care of the party food; while others want that they will take care of it.

Either way, it is best to be prepared. Make a menu of possible dishes that children love. Prepare a separate portfolio on it, and prepare your contact list for food caterers. Marketing your home-based business is important. You can make business cards, flyers and brochures and ask your suppliers to leave copies on their counters.
