Home-based Business Opportunity: Floating Candles II

Candle-making is a niche profitable for a home-based business. Floating candles are a variant of candles that are among the bestsellers. People use candles for varied reasons. Floating candles for example, are a nice accessory in a party. They are left to float on a body of water such as swimming pools or a deep bowl of water.

The secret for a candle to float lies on its width: it should be wider and shallower than all other candles. That is why you have to use small molds like the ones used for baking muffin. The procedure for making candles that float is not difficult to follow. Begin by preparing your materials, and melting your wax on a melting pot.

Ensure that you know the melting point of your wax. Use a candy thermometer to determine that you have reached the temperature in which you will add your coloring agent and fragrance oil. Stir constantly the mixture for two minutes and remove from the stove or any heating pan used. Some floating candles made by people who engage in candle-making home-based business used different colors and scents for their product. But there are also others who prefer to have a neutral aroma on their candles.

After filling all your molds with your wax mixture, allow some time to cool the wax until you see some skin appearing on top of the molds. At this time, you insert the pre-cut primed wick gently into the mold, and make certain that the wick is upright from the center. Let all the candles cool for several hours before you pop them out from their molds. After which you cut the wick to about one-fourth inch. Your floating candles are now ready. You can put them on a box before you wrap them with a transparent wrapper.

To make your floating candles a bestseller for your home-based business, provide different options in designs, shapes, scents, and color. For example, you can make floating candles replicating flowers such as sunflower, orchid, rose and daisies. There are also candles in bears, box, cookies and famous cartoon characters.

Better yet, provide a simple instruction on how and where to use the candles. You can suggest using candles in a wine or margarita glass by dropping a floating candle a wine glass or goblet. A margarita glass is good for having three small floating candles on it. A votive candle jar can also hold a floating candle. Fill the votive glass with water up to its mouth and drop a floating candle. You already have a floating votive candle.

To make a warm and attractive centerpiece, you can use a large bowl and fill it with water, then allow several candles to float on it. You or your customers can display the centerpiece on a center table in a living room.

Candle-making is not a new handcraft. In ancient times, candles have already been a part of people's culture and lifestyle. They are effective in evoking a romantic or serene mood.

Franchising 'where to advertise?' Franchising 'where to advertise?' - Great Forum. It took me a while to find you, but well worth the efforts... I'm launching a Business Opportunity and I have a few questions that I'm pondering. Mainly where to advertise and what online directories to target. directoryfranchise.com looks good, but I have no idea if they're worth the cost. They want 99.00-199.00 to list my site at up to 40 different listing sites. franchisegator.com and franchiseopportunities.com look solid... any suggestions? I'm currently devoting a significant amount of my time writing articles and plan to submit to the article directories. I'm already seeing good results from the few articles that I have released. My site is up and I have most of the puzzle pieces in place. Any comments on the site, and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
