There are seven basic strategies in online marketing. Each one of them is designed to drive traffic to your website, to increase the visibility of your online business, and to generate sales. The Search engine optimization or SEO is definitely the most common component of web marketing tactics.

Search engine optimization involves one-way, two-way or multiple ways of building links and keyword optimization. Its variant, the search engine marketing or SEM includes advertisement in search engines. Online advertising is a tactic that involves the use of banner ads, site sponsorships and text link ads to promote the website and its corresponding products and services.

The online public relations or PR includes the creation and submission of online press releases, article marketing and blogging. The e-mail marketing constitutes the use of e-mail newsletters, coupons and offers. The viral marketing uses the word of mouth tactics, the sharing of videos and files, and referral system.

The affiliate marketing is also a common part of web marketing tactics. Normally, it involves recruitment of affiliates to sell products and services for a percentage or commission of the sale. In choosing the marketing tactics']);"> web marketing tactics for your online business, you need to consider five things.

First, you find your niche. In the world of marketing, the niche is your business choice—your distinct segment of a market. Finding your niche is helpful in your business because it provides an opportunity of being unique with your products. Hence, your chances of earning high return on investment are high. Niche specifically targets a particular market.

Second, you identify your target market. In web marketing tactics, targeting your market makes you focus your products and services to a particular group. When you have found your target market, you can efficiently create your strategies for designing, pricing, promoting, distributing, improving and positioning your product and service, or idea.

Third, determine what drives or influences your target market the most. Knowing the elements that compel your target market to do the purchase proves helpful. When you know their needs and demands, you are able to increase your profits by providing an attractive solution to them.

Fourth, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your competitors. Ascertain the areas where your competitors lack or are weak; from there you design your business so that their weaknesses become your strengths.
