Times have changed. The prevailing breakdown of the economy has adversely affected many people. Some were laid off and for the first time in their lives they have no jobs and nothing to do with themselves. In due course the money in hand like bank balances dwindle. Some stop paying mortgages for their property and as a result have nowhere to live. It is indeed a sordid scenario, hard to imagine only a year ago. Under the circumstance there is only one thing you can do: Make money from home.

But it is easier said than done. One can’t make money any longer from doing conventional jobs. Then how can one do so of all places from home? And why wasn’t it done earlier? Instead of commuting to the city and back every morning and evening and working like a dog, one could have very well earned money from the comfort of one’s living room! But why nobody thought of it? Because everyone was so busy with what they were doing that it didn’t occur to them. It did only when things got really sour in the American economy. So, why not make your home your workplace too? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Let’s find out ways to make money from home.

One good way to make money from home is to join an internet marketing scheme known as Auto Pilot. This entails finding a website that pays you for output of referrals that you direct to them. You can do this as long as that affiliate is productive at that particular website.

The first thing to do is to join a program that is either residual based or pay lifetime commissions, the moment a referral of yours renews his/her membership or buys another such product or service from that organization. But many of these programs keep their members only for a few months and some don’t have repeat buyers. This is not a good state of affairs for a person trying to make money from home.

While you are looking for such a program, be sure to look for ones that keep most of its affiliates on a long time basis or a company that has a high ratio of repeat customers. As far as possible promote products that are good favorites with the buyers as they really need them. Dietary supplements, domain names, web hosting and dating sites are some examples. If you are lucky enough to join such programs and sincerely promote the products, you’re are on your way to make money from home before long and that too without moving a finger.

Yet another way is to outsource your whole online business. Of course you must have a good grasp of your business and know what to do every step of the way. This needs some initial investment to keep the business going. But you can have the eminent satisfaction of making others do all the work, while you sit back and make money from home. You can find these people in many places. Look for the ones who come up to your standards, make certain that they are doing their jobs well and then the only thing that remains is to sit back and rake in the shekels.

If its purely Money, then Blog might be an appropriate answer. But consider this - It will be people (visitors) that will bring traffic to your blog and then Money will follow. This will be possible after a time and during this time it will be your friends who will be the starters. If you are looking for friends only, then its true that not many will be interested in knowing how you have beaten them in the game or the other way round. You can also put up information on what others (including your friends) don't know about Tennis. QuickBooks vs. Microsoft Money vs....? - I have always used Microsoft Money to run my business - accounting, invoicing, etc. It came with my computer when I got it and integrated well with my online banking system so everything is a breeze. It only takes 30-60 minutes every quarter to do the bookkeeping (keep in mind that I have a very simple business - no inventory, very little invoicing, I do all my payments by credit card, etc). Is QuickBooks or Money the best accounting tool for small business owners? Or is there something even better?
Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
