How to Use Social Media for Internet Marketing

One way to be successful in internet marketing is to expose your business or niche to as many people as you can. Before, this concept was almost impossible. However today, thanks to evolvement of technology, anybody can reach out even to the other side of the world, through social networking, which can also mean more sales to your business internet.

When it comes to when it comes to marketing internet, social media provides free promotion and advertisement for your niche. When you have an account in Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedln and Wikis, you are allowing people to know of your business’ existence. Of course, you need to be wise and creative. Here are how:

1. Since you are associated with online internet marketing, your account should also be business-like. Use their web links to create your business profile. Every social media network shall walk you through the process of owning your account.

2. Set all privacy settings should off or allow public access to your internet business profile in terms of leaving comments, sending messages and viewing the full profile. Bear in mind that most people are interested in the profile posted on their account, hence, be professional in all matters.

Of course, you should not exaggerate. Use simple yet powerful words for your profile. Internet marketing is attractive especially if you know how and when to use social media.

3. Do not keep a mystery image. Even large scale companies use their company logo as their profile picture. In your case, since you are into web internet marketing, you can either use your official website logo or you can be more personal and use your own photo.

The advantage of the latter is that you are providing your clients a step closer to you. By knowing your face, your friends on social media can feel friendlier towards you. Moreover, people are particular with how you express your face, thus, wear a very friendly expression. This way, people are likely to trust you more.

4. Make use of the features available on Social Media Network. Internet marketing is given more advantage when photos of your niche are published. Tag all your friends, if the media network allows it, because it appears on the pages of your friend’s friends, thus creating more exposure.

5. Share your links, photos, blogs, sales, promotions and events to your friends through posting shout-outs. There are media networks that allow conversational communication to create direct line to your business, thereby, bridging the gap in business internet marketing.

6. Make your account interactive. Post blogs and articles and encourage your friends to join the discussion. Let them speak their minds out. This way, you can also know what people want and make use of such information to enhance your internet marketing.

Re: Kevin needs "social glue" ideas Re: Kevin needs "social glue" ideas - Hi, I like the idea of "10 items that could act as "social glue" because I am an internet marketer. But I agree with the rest that the 10 recent post is nice. Maybe we should open up a new section in the forums on Social Media...or Social Media Marketing. I will tell you that the world is about 1 1/2 behind when it comes to understanding social media. Building a section now will put EvanCarmichael.com is a great position a year down the road when people realize Social Media can produce more traffic than SEO. Jeff
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
Internet Marketing Section - Yes or No? Internet Marketing Section - Yes or No? - I think Samin is is right... The Social Media part needs to be a subcategory of Internet / Online Marketing. There are a few qualified characters here that would fit nicely as moderators. No sweat GT. There's a lot to share and learn, social marketing is fascinating and it'll be an eye opener for everyone as we dig into the details. But it's still just a small piece of the pie - maybe it's getting bigger???
