No doubt one could fill hundreds, even thousands of pages trying to capture all the ins and outs of the forever changing area of internet marketing. It seems that there is not a day going by where the rules of the game aren't somehow changing. Who would have thought a few months ago, for instance, that a basic site like Twitter would show up on to the scene with such speed and become a common used name within about six months. There is no end to it; that's why people spend thousands of dollars and thousands of hours studying internet marketing. Well, at least it's we'll never get bored. For the moment, though, I will stick to the basics of Internet and Direct response marketing. All the new bells and whistles or new online marketing products won't do you any good unless you have a fundamental understanding of what makes a successful internet marketer. We're going to start with an overview of copywriting. Without good copy, it doesn't matter how good your product is or how many visitors you drive to your page. They're going to take one look at it and run screaming in the other direction, probably straight to a competitor. So first and foremost, you need to be familiar with copywriting and at least know the basics. A good way to start is to seek for industry experts who will help you to write sales letters and e-mails that will compel visitors to click on that order link. Once you know how to write a good sales letter, writing an AdWords ads or a Website headline will become your second nature. On the other hand take note that your articles and most of the e-mail within you AutoResponder should be more about informing or helping you customer to make proper decision about a topic or a product and NOT about selling them a product. The good news is that informing your customer is much easier to do than trying to sell them; nobody like being sold. The second most important thing you need to know is how to improve your conversion rate. Conducting surveys can help you to do market research and allow you to target more directly different demographics group that come to your site. Finally, you need to understand the concept of the sales funnel and why it's an essential component of any successful product offering. You need to maximize your sales funnel so that your customers will always sticking with you and thus, making you money instead of wandering all over the web to find what they're looking for. There are two types of funnel, those converting to a leads (additional e-mail into your AutoResponder) and those converting to a sale or multiple sales. A quick tip to increase the conversions on you sales is start selling some products or information products bellow a hundred dollars an afterward direct them to bigger ticket items or more expensive products. You conversion will be much better as you increase the thrust and your credibility toward you customers. There's a lot to tell you about internet marketing and not much space or time to explain all of it. Hopefully we did point you in the right direction as you embark on your perilous journey through the minefield of internet marketing.

Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.

All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
