Here are few tips on how to make money from home by selling on e-bay:

Study the Market. During recession, people are more interested in things that are essential in survival. Rummage on your storage room and closets and look for things such as ammunition, guns, freezing supplies and home canning, first aid kits, hunting and camping supplies and gear, gardening equipment, freeze dried goods. These are the things that can make money working from home.

If your household does not have any of the above, you can sell your old appliances, old video games, DVDs, shoes, books, and clothing. Ensure that your items do not have any defect because most buyers are put off with it. If your appliances bear small and minor scratches, it will be helpful if you inform potential clients about them. It can also prepare them on what to expect.

Compare Prices. Log on to your account on e-bay. Observe the merchandises posted for sale and note their prices, color, size and measurements if applicable. If you also have similar items you want to sell, you have to be competitive in terms of prices and other features. Remember, thousands of people rely on e-bay one of several ways to make money from home.

For a start, set your prices at reasonable. Of course, you need to consider the shipment cost. There are two options to decide the best price. One, you can ask the buyer to shoulder the expenses. Some shipping lines permit collect services for shipment. Two, add up the shipment cost to the price of the merchandise.

Make a Description. You have to describe each item you plan to post on e-bay. Start with the basics such as the brand, size, color and other features that make the item special or a must-buy. It is on this part that you inform the public of any defects on the items. If there is none, then you simply give them reasons to buy them.

Take Photos of each item. If possible, take a picture of every side or dimension of the merchandise you are selling. A closer look can also be helpful to allow users to see the item clearer even on their monitors.

If you do not have any items for sale, you can still make money from home by helping two parties who flock the online market. You can make an agreement with pawnshops to allow you to post on e-bay their default items that have stayed long on their safety.

Of course, you need to know how much you can make money from being an agent. Generally, it is set at 30%. You can also visit stores that are having clearance sale. The merchandises are of the same quality of the ones that have been sold earlier, and they can be a great source to make money from home a continuous business.

QuickBooks vs. Microsoft Money vs....? - I have always used Microsoft Money to run my business - accounting, invoicing, etc. It came with my computer when I got it and integrated well with my online banking system so everything is a breeze. It only takes 30-60 minutes every quarter to do the bookkeeping (keep in mind that I have a very simple business - no inventory, very little invoicing, I do all my payments by credit card, etc). Is QuickBooks or Money the best accounting tool for small business owners? Or is there something even better?
