Many website owners use search engine optimization as part of their online marketing strategies. It effectively drives traffic to their site and increases the number of their visitors. However, that is not all about it.
What good is the large number of visitors if they leave your site unsatisfied, uninformed or un-entertained? As an online marketing strategy, search engine optimization can be narrowed down into two phases, namely the content of your web and the HTML code on the page.
In optimizing the content of your web, you need to determine the right keywords for it. It depends on your niche. However, you need to be specific with your keywords to even out the competition and for the search engines to read your contents.
When you have found the right and specific keywords, you have to use it on your website. Use them on your title, domain, web page and in the inner web pages. Many people thought that they would fare well in online marketing strategies if they use too much of their keywords.
Experts countered that keywords should only be used 5 times as the maximum. If you use more than that, search engines will think that your site is a spam and will not include on the search results. Experts in online marketing strategy believe in the right density of keywords.
If you use web content articles and blogs, you should also use the keywords. Nevertheless, this is not sufficient. You need to come up with compelling and substantial material to the readers. There are five tips to do this.
First, you need to focus on your topic. You do not want the search engines to be confused with your topic and send wrong signals to them. Stay on your topic and work on it regularly by supplementing updates on your blogs or articles. Establish a continuing theme on your site, make your design user-friendly and your layout readable.
Second, use your headline to catch the interest of your readers. Make them want to click to read more. Using a compelling and useful headline is an effective tool to establish your site as an authority of your niche.
Third, use the keywords you have searched all throughout the article. Use them five times the most. Make your articles and blogs 700- and- more- words long. Search engines view these long contents to be important and having authority.
Fourth, gain the right information. Do a thorough research on your topic. Give only the facts and remove all assumptions. Online marketing strategies do not rely on unverified and false information.
Fifth, be on the mainstream. Know the latest topics, trends and what is hot on the web. If you run short of concepts, use free software to provide you the topmost keywords. If it is a blog you maintain, use Google blog search.
The second phase of search engine optimization is the use of HTML code on your web page. The use of the title tag is important. It should also include your keywords, particularly the main keyword.
The page description is vital too. Some websites use the first paragraph of the article of blog as their description. Use your keywords in your description, which should be a summary of what the page is about. Optimizing your web as your online marketing strategy is effective when you know the right thing to do.
