Using Opt-in Email for Online Marketing Strategies

If you have an online business, whether large or small, you may have benefited from e-mail marketing as part of your online marketing strategies. Businessmen deem their contact list to be valuable since it accounts for a great deal of their profitability.

Many website owners rely on this method to advertise and market their niche. The results can be rewarding particularly when they have reached out to their customers properly. However, one drawback to this online marketing strategy is spamming.

In an effort to curb it, many website owners use the opt-in email. Simply put, it allows the users or visitors to a certain sites, the option of receiving or subscribing to newsletters or messages about new products, services or special offers.

In opt-in, the user is requested to click on the link provided on the e-mail to register or confirm his email address. There are two types of opt-in email. The single opt-in which only the person to send the subscription request to be added on the list, a very easy way to build up your contact list.

The second type is double opt-in, which requires two requests—initial and confirmation—to be added on the list. Website owners prefer to use double opt-in for their online marketing strategies because it assures them of quality contact information. Moreover, it prevents future problems.

However, its drawbacks include discouragement on the part of the potential clients for having to go through the confirmation process, of which they may not understand its significance. On the bright side, opt in e-mail regardless of its types promises of high returns while reducing the probability of spam.

If you are considering another approach to your online marketing strategies, try opt-in. It helps you focus your business to customers who really need your products and services. By supplying them real time offers. And as you become adept in opt-in email, you may find that this online marketing strategy is capable of driving traffic to your business domain and may increase profits.

To be successful in your online marketing strategies through opt-in e-mail, the following tips can be helpful:

1. Target your e-mail to the right individuals. Know where and how to find people who may be or are interested in your products and services. There are many ways to do this. You can use your personal contacts such as family, friends and colleagues. Your contacts on social networking can be helpful.

2. Offer real value. The purpose of advertising is to drive the right people to your website and prompt them to purchase your offers, in which case, your website should be ready to convert potential clients to be real clients. Offer them special discounts and benefits. Give them a reason why they should buy your products or services before leaving the site. This is one secret to success in online marketing strategies

3 . Make a follow up e-mails at the right interval. Remind your clients of an upcoming special event or promotions at least one month before the said event. Send a follow-up e-mail after two weeks, and the last one on the week of the event. There are also business experts who persist on their online marketing strategies by sending post-event e-mail opt-in for those who missed the privileges.

The reason I'm asking is because people may not know what social media marketing is , while that would make me vote for it to learn more, but not every thinks like that. Also, online marketing could capture more attention when people spot in on the list. Shri

Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned. And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.
