Recently Laid Off or Fired?

Have you recently been laid off or fired? Are you a recent graduate and still have not found a job? You certainly do not have to feel alone. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that last month, August 2009, that 14.9 million or 9.7% of Americans were unemployed. Here in California where I live, it is even worse, 11.9% in July. That is really not very good news if you are seeking employment. But there is a viable option. Forbes magazine recently reported that 40 million people will start a home based business in the nest 3-5 years.

If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, and aren't afraid to work, this could be a lucrative option for you. If you search home based online business opportunities, or something similar, you will be amazed at what is out there. I need to make more than the ads showing Moms making $200/day. MLMs have zero interest to me. I just can not see myself pushing potions and lotions, vitamins and magic juices to my family, friends, neighbors and anyone else that comes within three feet of me. I am not a salesman and have no interest in cold calling.

As you search for a legitimate home based business opportunity, part of your due diligence needs to be finding and feeling comfortable with the answers to the following five questions;

I found a legitimate business opportunity that successfully meets these criteria. The question is, are you ready to leave the brick and mortar jobs that put you where you are, take action and learn more about this legitimate business opportunity?

What have you trademarked? What have you trademarked? - Trademarking can a difficult and time consuming process. It also doesn't always work out (ie. Donald Trump was not able to trademark the phrase "You're Fired") What have you trademarked and has it helped your business?
Best Month For Getting Financed? Best Month For Getting Financed? - I would think that November and December would be bad, as most people are busy racking up debt in the holiday season... has there ever been a study on what are the most popular months for people getting loans? Although, with the current breakdown in banks, I suppose all the old paradigms are going to be trashed, and new ways of doing things will have to be learned. Quite a few large comapanies seem to be built on nothing but smoke and mirrors, with nothing to back them up... Much as I hate to see thousands of people thrown out of work just before Christmas, the Unions have way too sweet a deal wth the Big 3 Automakers. Laid off workers get paid 95% of their paycheck, indefinitely? Ridiculous!
Re: Review My: Trump 4 President Site Re: Review My: Trump 4 President Site - Hey Zac - congrats on getting it up quickly! My first thoughts are: loud and cluttered. Red is a very powerful color and to have it as a background can be really hard on the eyes (especially a widescreen monitor where the background is so big). There's also a lot going on - what do you want people to do? Get on the newsletter list? I'm unsure what I'm supposed to do next... I love the picture though with Trump on Uncle Sam with the You're Fired Mr. President - I think the content will shine through more as you get the graphic interface looking a little nicer. You might want to consider putting it up on 99designs for some bids. How do you plan to monetize the site? That could help us help you better as well!

Book review: We Got Fired: And its the best thing that ever Book review: We Got Fired: And its the best thing that ever - Book review: We Got Fired: And its the best thing that ever happened to us Edited by Harvey McKay. Featuring - in microcosm - the business life stories about 30 CEOS (too many names for me to mention here), but politicians, football coaches, and business people such as Donald Trump, Lou Holtz and Bill Bellichek, etc. Each chapter is an interview with one of these individuals, telling why they were "fired" and how they then moved on to something else and made a success of that. The main thing to take away from the book is that, even if you as an entrepreneur have to "fire yourself" from one job, take that as a reason to go into a different field and make a success of that, as it can and has been done.
