What originally attracted me to a home based business opportunity? To be honest, the first thing that called out to me was the income potential. Having been a restaurant manager, the thought of not having to manage 70 employees from the "me" generation was extremely attractive as well. No more commute. No longer having to set an alarm - especially that one day a week at 4 AM so I could go stand inside the walk in feezer and coolers for a couple of hours taking inventory. These were all plusses I could see walking in.
But it gets better! As a restaurant manager I had to work every holiday except Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year, on Father's Day, my son and daughter-in-law took me to the Angels game! My daughter and 2 1/2 year old grandson, Brayden, stayed with me for a couple of weeks last month. Unlike previous visits, this time I was here every morning when he woke up and every night when he went to sleep. He would walk down the hall just to say hi or to ask me a question as I worked at my desk. And when he wanted to go swimming, you guessed it, we did! Now when I visit them in Las Vegas, I don't have to pull vacation days or have my District Manager cover my shifts. All I need is a computer and a phone and I can work from anywhere in the world. I have probably been able to spend more time with my mom in the past couple of months than I had been able to in the past couple of years. And sports! I was able to watch the Angels, USC and UCLA games on Saturday. Yesterday was the first NFL Sunday of the year, and I caught all the games.
This is not to say that I don't work, because I certainly do! But now, with my home based business, I have gotten my life back and am able to leverage my time to do the things that I enjoy.
