Promote your Online Business by Writing Articles

Promoting your online business by writing articles and distributing them to article sites is one of the best forms of free advertising on the internet today. You don't have to be an expert author and there is a wealth of information on the World Wide Web that you can source to use in your articles.

Obviously you mustn't copy other people's articles word for word, or most of the good article sites will reject your article, but you can get loads of ideas by just reading other peoples work. The length of your article only needs to be between 450 and 750 words, so it shouldn't take you more than half an hour to write a decent article. You can then distribute it to some good distribution sites, and that will ensure that your approved articles get to the relevant search engines.

A good article idea to use is a ‘how to' article. People are always searching for different ways and approaches to doing things, and you could pick a subject that you are good at to elaborate on. Don't be scared to give your best stuff away, because then you will build a following and your articles will add value to their lives.

The reason why articles are one of the best forms of advertising for you is because you can generate high quality and responsive leads. You can attract a different type of person, and one that is like you, by them just reading your article and clicking on your links. You can do more specific targeting of your audience in this manner than by just advertising on Google. The only thing you will have to do is write a lot of articles to be noticed. Ten a week is a good number to get started on for the first one or two months, then you can drop down to 5 or so. If you only do an article a week, you won't see much difference in your traffic.

Apart from the free advertising, there are loads of publishers searching the net for good articles to publish on their websites. If this happens, your links will be viewed by more people and thus you increase the links out there to your website.

Articles are normally on the search engines for a long time after they are published, so once you have a lot of good and relevant content out there, you should see a noticeable difference to the traffic that you get to your website.
