And how do you do that? Well you say something meaningful to him. It has to be something that attracts his core beliefs, appeal to his feelings and desires.

If your prospect is insecure you promise to make him a better writer, a better lover or a sophisticated intellectual. Whatever it is your product or service will do for him. If he's afraid you can offer him assurance, hope or a chance to turn things around.

When he opens your letter you need to try and figure out where he is emotionally and then hit him with it. In that way he can't help but continue to read.

Before you settle for a head line reflect upon all possible choices. Remember you only have a few precious seconds to grab your prospect's attention.

The Lead

Now that you have captured your prospects attention with the headline you have to hook him and keep his interest going.

And again, how do you do that?

Well this is where you deliver The Big Promise. You show him how your product or your service will make him smarter, sexier, richer, more successful or more powerful.

In fact this is where you show him what he'll get if he continues to read your letter.

There are many ways to "lead" into your promise. You can paint a picture in your prospects mind or point out common myths, or come up with some facts and figures. However your specific approach for this prospect will depend on how you believe you can best reach him.

Learn this and you are well on your way to succeed in your network marketing business opportunity.

The Body

Now this is where you will be making a good case for your product or service and doing most of your hard selling. You'll talk about all the benefits and how it can improve your prospects life. Just load up your letter with benefits.

Then you'll get into the proof part of your letter. Think about what kind of evidence your prospects would want to be persuaded to buy your product. Maybe he'll want a specific study or facts and figures. Maybe you need a testimonial from a doctor, a lawyer or somebody else with credibility. You can also use articles or any other independent data which supports your argument.

The point is you must show your prospect that you can back up what you say, and you do that by giving him independent and reliable sources of information.

The Close

Now you are going to ask your prospect for his money. This is the point of no turning back. You must solidify the buying decision in your prospect's mind. There are 4 steps to this process:

1. Before you reveal the price remind him of all the great benefit. And you could throw in some additional benefits to get him excited.

2. Then you make the offer. You tell him exactly what he gets for a modest payment.

3. Next you tell him that he's really got nothing to lose by trying because his money will be refunded if he is not satisfied. You give him a 100% money-back guarantee.

4. Finally you'll want to include a strong PS to throw your prospect over the top. You can do that by surprising him with an additional special bonus, like a special report, DVD, or a calculator, something the prospect can keep even if he cancels. In this way he can only win and will order your product or service immediately.

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
