Is Now A Good Time To Start A Home Business?

Entrepreneurs, especially those with a successful home-based Internet marketing business, are more recession-proof than someone who is in the traditional employer-employee relationship trading time for money. Job loss, shrinking corporate pensions, and income that doesn't go as far as it used to, are just some of the symptoms of an economic recession. Most Americans today are finding it harder and harder to make ends meet.  For those lucky enough to still have a job, many are finding the need to supplement their income due to shrinking savings and the ever increasing cost of living expenses.  Today more Americans are working well past the age when they can retire.

Unfortunately the catch is, workers 45 years of age and older, who try to stay in the labor force during an economic downturn, find themselves the primary casualties during company downsizings. Not only do they comprise a disproportionate share of the lay-offs, but they are usually out of work longer than 6 months.  Additionally, when work is found, they typically experience a much steeper drop in earnings than their younger counterparts.

However, there is one group for which this isn't true: the self-employed.  People who own their own business earn more than other Americans on average.  And, because they run their own companies, they decide to work however long they like.  People who are self-employed tend to extend the number of years they are working; in part because of the kind of control they have over decisions of when, where and how they work.  This is especially true for Internet marketers.  As an entrepreneur you have the opportunity to run your own business and do something beyond the normal nine to five job that most people have.  Using the Internet, an entrepreneur has the ability to market their product to millions of people around the world, all from the comfort of a home office.  Consider how wonderful it would be not to have to worry about whether or not you'll get caught up in the next round of corporate downsizing, or if Social Security Benefits will still be around when it's your time to retire.

Learning how to be an online entrepreneur the right way can help you to avoid many of the start-up pitfalls.  Using proven Internet marketing strategies and tactics, combined with the right product and business plan, an online marketing entrepreneur is CEO of their own successful company, charting their own course, generating unlimited income and determining when, where and how they will retire.
