How Not to Find the Best Rated Home Businesses

Are you seeking the best ratedhome business? Once you begin your search, you may be overwhelmed at the sheer number of opportunities available to you. So how can you narrow down your search and find the perfect opportunity? In this article, we talk about the three ways you shouldn't go about finding a home based business.

Don't Fall For Scams

Let's start with what reputable businesses don't do: they don't require you to call a 900 number to get more information. They don't require you to pay huge amounts of cash up-front to get started. The ads you see for jobs like envelope stuffing, crafting, and forwarding emails will scam you every time. These are all well-known ways that illegitimate companies try to lure desperate or scared people into working for them, and they never deliver on their promises.

There are consumer watch blogs online that specialize in tracking down these kinds of businesses and exposing them so innocent people won't get harmed. If you suspect that an online business is really a fraud, check them out with these consumer watch blogs or with theBetter Business Bureaubefore proceeding.

Don't Get Into Anything You Don't Like

Let's say you've received a lead on ahome based businessprospect, but it's mostly in sales, which is something you really hate doing. You don't have a gift for it and the very idea of cold-calling makes you a little nervous and sick to your stomach. On the other hand, people have joined this business and have done quite well with it--they're making money. Should you put your feelings about sales behind and go for it?

Well, it's just never a good idea to try to make money doing something you hate. If you don't have a gift for it, or if you don't enjoy what you do, you won't stick with it. That's a statistical probability. If you want to give it a try, there's no harm in getting your feet wet while still staying with your current job. You may find you really like it. But never stick with a job you hate just because you feel you might make some money.

Never Get "Guilted" Into Business Ownership

A lot of businesses grow by encouraging their employees to recruit others to the company. This is mutually beneficial for the company and its employees: the company can save on recruitment efforts while employees usually get some kind of financial reward for bringing others into the fold. The problem with this, though, is that it forces employees to trade on bonds of friendship or family ties, as they are usually urged to recruit among friends and family. This can put a terrible strain on your personal relationships if someone cannot join the company or simply doesn't want to.

However, you should never be guilted into joining a business, if it's not the right choice for you. Although it may put a strain on your relationships temporarily to say no, it's better than joining a business you don't like for the long-term. This could sour your relationships for years to come. Instead, find the opportunities that look appetizing and make good use of your talents. Try to keepbusinessand personal relationships totally separate.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
