How to Generate Traffic From Social Networking
Social networking combines all of the
ways that people most often communicate online with the enormous traffic
of some of the world’s largest websites. The potential for generating
large traffic numbers by using social networking sites is there for
anyone who has communication skills and business to promote.
Building Back Links
One of the many ways to generate traffic
with social networking sites is to use them to build a few links back
to the site that you are promoting. The links can help people to get
directly to the site that you have described on the profile page that
has been created for the business. These links help customers to find
the site easier, but they also have another useful purpose.
Getting links to a website is a way to
boost the search engine ranking of that site. A back link says to search
engines that sites are interested enough in the website to link to it.
These links are all votes for the website, and sites that have a lot
of votes are given a higher page ranking that sites that don’t.
By building a profile page about a business
and linking back to the website, the site gets a vote. Do this several
times with several different social networking sites and the website
will have many back links to help boost its ranking.
Generating Word of Mouth
Online, getting word of mouth is an extremely
important part of marketing any business. With profile pages, more people
will find out about the business than would without them. Adding social
networking sites to an overall marketing plan means that the sites are
additional marketing pages where people can read about the business
and see pictures of its products.
And, because these sites get so much
traffic, a business owner can expect some of that traffic to find its
way to their profile page. You can also expect these profile pages to
show up in search engine searches with good placement.
Using Social Networking Friends for Marketing
One of the biggest advantages to networking
sites is that a member can gather large numbers of friends who follow
the contents of a page and any changes that have been made to it. Those
friends are all people who may be interested in purchasing from the
business, and they are all the perfect audience for this type of marketing.
Most of these networking websites allow
a means of sending out mass messages to friends and followers. These
messages are free advertising for the business, and they are ones that
customers willingly sign up to receive. This makes then perfect vehicles
for sending advertising messages to the very people who will most welcome
them.

This Social Network has changed my life! Every night is a Friday night and everyday is a Saturday!! Because of it, I have been able to leave the workforce 10 years early.It has given me back my life.
Many of us would like to retire early. I am sure there are many more. The point is of focusing with great determination. The ongoing challenge is to stay focussed and not be sidetracked into a newer scheme or so. Also I have read, during this financial turmoil, more people turn to Social Networking for various reasons.

- Social Bookmarking sites seems to be ignored by most bloggers, preferring the use of Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter.
I have come to observe that visitors referred through Social Bookmarking sites tend to engage and converts to lead more than the former.
And the Traffic is more regular!
Diigo.com scores highest in terms of traffic in the Social Bookmarking sites I have tried out so far.
