Honey, I've lost my Job - and Why Self Employment is on the Rise

"Honey, I've lost my job" I'd like a dollar for every time that line has been said over the last 12 months. The sad reality is unemployment is on the rise across the globe as the aftermath of the global financial crisis and collapse of financial systems takes its toll down to the working class level. That's us, or 95% of the population that the greed and manipulation of Wall Street has affected. The unemployment rate in the US has risen to almost 10% (august 2009) and up to 500,000 people every month are adding to that number in the US alone. Even in Australia which has faired better than most countries because of a government budget surplus prior to the crisis is suffering with around 25,000 people per month being added to their unemployment (You can put that into perspective when you consider their 'employed' number of people is around 10mil)

So, it's no surprise that self employment is on the rise. People are being forced to turn to self employed business opportunities to survive. And mostly, these opportunities are online home based business opportunities. There is no shortage of them being offered either. Just type in 'home based business' to google and you'll find over 500,000,000 results!

That's a lot! If someone has suddenly joined the unemployed queue, how do they find the best self employed business opportunity to suit them? How do they steer clear of the growing number of scams on the internet luring people with false hopes through unattainable income claims and/or high initial outlays or startup costs?

Research is the key. Everyone has to take responsibility for their own decision and conduct their OWN research. I know, because I've been down the track already. Even, if you look for reviews or 'unbiased' opinions on the best home based business you will find most are aligned with products or acting as a commissioned affiliate.

I'm also a victim of the financial meltdown and was forced into looking for something else. Fortunately, my financial background gave me more of an inquisitive mind when searching for an online self employed business opportunity.

Research, research and more research is the only way to sift through the countless opportunities that present themselves online. I spent nearly 2 months conducting my own research before finding what I believe is The best online business opportunity around today.

How did I find it? Well, what happens when you do that much research is the 'good'opportunities comes to the 'top' more often. A bit like the difference of asking one person or 100 people their views on, say, "what's the best small car to drive". If you only asked one person then you could end up with a lemon. But, if you ask 100 people you'll most likely find the best.

And that's the secret to finding the best online business opportunities. Conduct you own research. Don't rely on others. Keep asking or researching the same question over and over until you get a common answer. And who knows, you may be on your way to becoming self employed and rich and I'll be a dollar poorer.

The Half time of the year is over The Half time of the year is over - The recent FIFA confederation cup final was played with both sides doing their best to outwit one another. In the first half of the game USA team dropped two goals into the net of the Brazilian team. They went in to the locker room and when they came out; the Brazilian team came out and scored two goals to restore what they lost and finally the third goal to win the cup. June ended yesterday which was the first half of this year. I don’t know how many things you’ve lost during the first six months, but it is not yet over. You can go to the drawing board and look back on what you’ve lost and set your mind to play this game like the Brazilian team and win the next six months. I told somebody today about my plans of going to the drawing board and set goals for the next six months. Like the Brazilian team, I must first recoup what I believe was lost and also achieve the goals before me for the next six months. I must definitely win. You must act or else before you know it, we will be greeting each other Merry Xmas and there will be nothing to show for it. God is our strength and shield.

Thankfully, my father died without any pain as far as we know and that is a comfort, thanks again, Mal.
