Secrets for Successful Article Marketing

Okay...you've started your own internet business, and you were led to believe that setting up a website or two selling some products would make you rich beyond your wildest dreams. But what you weren't told is that getting your sites set up is the easy part. Now you've got to send traffic to them...and that takes effort. The only way your internet business is going to succeed is for you to promote it. There are several paid methods that will get you loads of visitors to your sites, but many people launching an internet business are either out of work or still working a day job and can not afford paid advertising. No worries. There are plenty of free methods to promote your business...but you must be prepared to put in some work. Internet business is an equal opportunity for all, regardless of income, but if you don't have a bunch of advertising dollars, you'll need so substitute a bunch of advertising hours.

Article Marketing is one of the more effective free advertising methods for your business. Articles are effective for business promotion because being an expert online author establishes you as an authority in your market and you become ‘the guy to listen to'. To help you get started, here are some article marketing secrets.

• You should try to use catchy, relevant titles that will entice a reader to open the article. You can expect a large number of readers if your titles peak their curiosity enough that they want to know more just by reading the title. It's also recommended to use your chosen keyword(s) in your titles. That way when someone searches on your chosen keywords, your articles appear in the search results.

• Be sure that your articles are well organized and easy to read. Nothing is more certain to get your articles skipped over by readers than if you write one long ongoing paragraph with no breaks. Divide your article into short, digestible chunks. Make wise use of bullet points to emphasize important information. Remember that most online ‘readers' are really ‘scanners'. Make your articles easy to scan for the information you're trying to impart.

• It's imperative that your articles offer real content, and are not designed just to make you look like you know a lot of big words. You're trying to prove that you are an authority on the topic you're writing about, and if you're not offering good, valid content you're just wasting your time. Don't pull out the thesaurus to look smart. Use everyday words. Write the way you speak so that you can better relate to your readers.

• This one is, arguably, the most important! You'll need to write a concise, to the point ‘resource box'. Your resource box is just a short blurb about who you are and why the reader should listen to you that includes a link to your website. Most article submission sites have strict rules about limiting (or disallowing altogether) links to your websites in the body of your article. Your resource box is the link between your article and your offer. Keep it short (3-4 lines) and professional and BE SURE to include a call to action with a link to your website.

Free website promotion with article marketing is easy to do and very effective, if done properly. Just remember and apply the secrets outlined here and you're sure to see targeted traffic from your article submissions.
