Adword Mistakes You Should Avoid at All Costs

In order for Google Adwords to be an effective advertising tool for your online business, you have to know how to use it properly. Acquiring the necessary skills to direct Adwords advertisements effectively is critical if you are going to employ this tool in a way that will yield significant cash returns in the time frame you want for the money the campaign cost you. On the other hand, if you do not take the time to learn how to effectively manage Adwords campaigns, you can find yourself making some costly mistakes that can cause your marketing business to grind to a halt. In this article we will show you the three most common mistakes made in Adwords campaigns that you should avoid in order to have a successful marketing effort.

1. Estimating Your Daily Expense Too High

A large advantage provided by Point Per Click marketing is that you can tell exactly how your budget is being spent. The kind of testing you can do with Google Adwords can help you optimize your campaign and take it to a profitable level. However, neglecting this features not only means that you loose out on money, you're also leaving out a lot of it on the table. Adwords facilitates split testing by allowing you to run 2 or more of your own ads in competition with one another, so you can determine which has the highest earning potential. With just one ad running at a time, and no comparative testing, it will be difficult to determine how effective that ad is. Using this split test technique, you can use the results of the split test of begin removing the ad with the weaker performance, increasing your site traffic through click-through rates and increased conversions.

2. Not Using Negative Keywords

Google Content Network is a place where other websites display Google ads. It is not part of Google or its partners. There are a number of issues with this, not the least of which is that the sites might not be reaching your target market, but also that you may be head to head with competition. Why does that matter to you? It's a risk in simple terms as you might not get your return on investment even after spending gobs of money. In addition, they ads are tough to track and analyze. So keep in mind that when you're starting your Adwords campaign, you need to turn of the "content network" and keep your focus solely on Google and its partners. The Content Network does have it's benefits, but it is a whole other universe with different rules.

3. Not Staying Focused On Your Landing Page

This is yet another mistake made commonly by beginners, they get carried away with Adwords without studying the consequences. They look at the numbers in their market, see the potential and calculate that they will be able to get 10,000 visitors in a month and make lots of money. However, the problem that comes up with this is that they don't think about the conversion. For the profit to exist the traffic needs to convert. In order to do this, you have to start off with small traffic and then grow as you see the conversions growing. This is the process you have to follow if you want to get the most profits out of Adwords.

Re: Help with adwords Re: Help with adwords - We strayed a bit from our Adwords when the campaigns began to struggle a bit this year - we replaced our efforts into pure content creation (blogging) and have been seeing much better results. Find a knowledgeable web person - have them setup a blogging tool on your own website (so use your own instance of something like WordPress rather than having a blog on another application like Blogger.com etc.). Start creating your own content - you know your own business the best, and you are likely in the best position to generate serious amounts of content about your business. In the end you will still have this content, and it will be on your own site. Adword campaigns expire, yet the content you create will be yours forever! Good Luck!
Patent Walk-Through Patent Walk-Through - Hello everyone! My name is Alex, I'm 18 years old and I'm constantly drawing up new ideas and inventing stuff. I sketch stuff down everywhere I go and on anything I can write on. I'm a big member of our local Future Business Leaders of America chapter (FBLA). In the future I hope to work my way up to being a Venture Capitalist. I think of myself as a pretty creative person who is very motivated. Some of the ideas and inventions I come up with are pretty far out but others I consider marketable and to have great potential. Being 18, I have little to no connections and no resources. I've been surfing this site pretty frequently for the last year and have finally decided to join the forum group. Anyway, here's my question... Basically, I have no idea how to get a patent together the costs and the overall process. As of now, I think I have a great idea that, as far as I know has not, ever been done before. I'm really excited about this idea. I'm a total novice at this and am willing to learn all that I can. Any information that you can provide me with would be great. Again the main things I want to know are: 1.Overall Process. 2.How Long It Takes. 3.Costs. 4.Anything That You Think I Should Know. 5.Tips/Experiences. 6.Confidentiality. 7.Must I Make A Physical Model of My Idea? Thanks guys! -Alex
Managing Your Brand Managing Your Brand - One of the biggest hurdles for a lot of business owners to leap when it comes to the internet is realizing that people will be talking about your company whether you like it or not. And that includes good AND bad. Mistakes are bound to happen in any business, but when they do it's quite possible that the story will wind up on the internet where anyone searching for your business can find it. If you're not maintaining an effective presence on the web or mortgage broker websites, you're going to have two problems if this happens. The negative review could wind up ranking high in the search results, so whenever somebody searches for your business, this could be one of the first things they see. The review might be accurate if a mistake really was made, or it might be completely inaccurate, but that potential customer has no way of knowing for sure (and is more than likely going to accept it as fact). You won't have a chance to explain the situation and fix it. The solution here is to be a part of the conversation. In other words, engage your customers where these kinds of things might appear so you can try to correct any mistakes that were actually made, or explain your side if it's completely inaccurate. There are two of the places that these kinds of discussions can happen - Facebook and Twitter. It's important that you have a presence on both, if only as a point of contact for your customers who are already in those places. Imagine this scenario… One of your employees has been dealing with a customer, and the customer is unhappy with the service they received. But instead of coming to you and giving you the opportunity to fix the problem, they go to these websites and post about the problem and how unhappy they were with your company. If you don't have a presence on Twitter or Facebook, you might never know about it. But people who are looking for information about your company online could quite likely find that information whenever they search for you. Now think about this... If you are active on those sites, on the other hand, you can jump in and try to correct the situation. This is not only going to give you a chance to turn an unhappy customer into a happy one (who might also become one of your biggest supporters at that point) it's also going to add your side of things to the "record" of the situation on the internet. Now when someone searching for you finds that review/complaint, they're also going to see your response, and the fact that you tried to correct the situation for that unhappy customer. Which scenario would you prefer?
