Basic Offline Marketing Methods for Internet Marketers

Guest post by: Daniel Waser

Article Overview: If you are similar to most internet marketers then you spend much of your time at your computer. You post ads to online sites, pay for PPC campaigns, write articles for article marketing purposes, put together e-mail marketing blasts and work on your products. Of course, not everyone spends all day sitting in front of the internet! There are droves of buyers waiting for you to step away from your computer so you can make them aware of your site, its content, and your offers. Marketing is all about selling as much of your product as you can while making the largest profit that you can. To reach your income goals you can take advantage of offline marketing. Here are some ways to market your products and services off of the internet.

Basic Offline Marketing Methods for Internet Marketers

As an internet marketer, it probably makes sense to devote all of your advertising and marketing funds to online marketing techniques. How much do you spend every month on things like PPC advertising, outsourcing SEO, paying for ezine or banner ads or other online marketing methods? With all of your internet-based marketing efforts, have you perhaps ignored all of the ways you could be marketing offline? As hard to believe as this is for some people, not everyone is online! The key point is that if you only use one type of marketing, you are going to be bypassing lots of people who get their information elsewhere! Many internet marketers don't even know how to begin marketing offline. Marketing offline is not hard, so let's look at some good methods that will help you begin.

First, be sure to check your local laws concerning flier distribution. Are you allowed to hang fliers on doors? Are you allowed to slip them into mailboxes or under a car's windshield wiper? The law part is out of the way, now it is time to get to work by printing some simple fliers out on your desktop (you can do a search online or go to your local library to learn how); if you don't have the time then just outsource the job to a small business or a freelancer, these types of products don't cost much. Now just pass them out the best way that you can; you can even pay others to do it for you.

You never know how many potential clients you can reach this way. Put a coupon code into the fliers so you can track your success! Ever ride the bus or train? People out in public are always checking out someone else's clothes so use yours to advertise your website. The cost of this is inexpensive. You can sometimes get a free design from a printing company as a sample design.

Use these free samples to design a t-shirt or bag for your business and then wear it out in the world a few times a week or carry the bag with you once in a while instead of your regular purse or backpack. People will be curious as to what the website is about that you have printed on your shirt or bag and may even visit the site right then and there from their cell phone.

Never underestimate the importance of a well placed pen. Finding a company to handle this printing job is easy; there are thousands of places that will do good designs for your business. Once you have them you will most likely exhaust your supply faster than expected. You can pass them out to people when you are riding on public transportation, if you ride it at all. Leave some next to the napkins and straws next time you visit a fast food restaurant like McDonald's.

Also, you can walk around passing them out; this works very well at places like libraries. People always take free pens! There is a bigger world out there than the online world. We may know how to find exactly what we are searching for online but many people give up after one or two searches. If you ever have dreams of becoming a millionaire marketer then you need to include offline sales into your system.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach - Hi Julie, Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
