Article Overview: Copywriting is an art form that involves making a sale with the words you speak. When you would like to sell more products, receive positive feedback from potential clients and expand your online business opportunities, it's very important that you write excellent sales copy. Most people think that in order to generate a good copy, your English skills must be top notch and your writing should be unmatched. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reason many sales copies don't work is not because they are badly written, no, that's not the case.

Don't Mess Up Your Copywriting By Making These Mistakes
Good copywriting skills are essential to anyone who has an online business. Copywriting can literally be the key to your success. Let's face it - when written properly, the copy on your website can make or break your business. Especially when it comes to direct response selling or search engine optimization, in the world of online marketing, copy is king. No matter what your business, you must convince your customer to buy your product whether that may be a physical product, a service, or MLM. Copywriting is different from other forms of writing.
You don't have to worry about proper punctuation or grammar. If you are too stuck up on grammar, you may not form a good natural flow in your writing that feels like you are talking to your customer. Copywriting does of course have its own rules, just like any other discipline out there. Not surprisingly, if you only loosely follow the rules you will end up hurting the response you receive from your leads. Read on through the this article to learn what mistakes you could fall into, and how to avoid them.
The bulk of copywriting is employed in the promotion of services and products in every conceivable area. Now realize that even a decent piece of copy does nothing more than showcase a product's basic points in a way that simply gets you to notice it. A good copy makes sure it includes a real call to action. Your copy will not have any real meaning until you can convince the customer of what it is you want them to do. This cannot be stressed enough-your goal as a copywriter MUST be to do more than serve up a bundle of features and information to your prospect; it is to ensure he responds to that call to action (going from window shopper to buyer, looking to signing up, etc.).
You have to make your 'call to action' statements informative and give your prospective audience a reason to respond, show them what makes this worth their while and why they should take action. Your copy must instill an obligation to respond to your efforts in the target market. If you master the technique of inciting responses from your viewers, you will begin to see vast improvements in your conversion rate and sales.
Another basic mistake made by beginners is to fail to recognize the importance of 'white space.' They may write one huge section of copy and not break it up into easy-to-read paragraphs or sections. This cuts out the white space, and can overwhelm the reader. When the reader becomes overwhelmed at the amount of information on the page, they stop reading the article, and the copywriter loses a sale. Of course you hope to make your copy as clear and concise as possible so as not to confuse your prospect. By breaking your article into pieces and spacing them a bit, you make it easier for your reader to understand your product.
You can do this by adding testimonials in boxes, subheadings, screenshots, etc. By including things like testimonials, and screenshots in boxes outside of the article itself, you help your reader not feel so overwhelmed. So if you want to avoid turning your copy into a boredom blackhole, then break things up. Your sales copy will enjoy a much more positive response if you practice this.
When you aim to write successful and quality copy, it is important to remember these potential mistakes so that you can avoid them as best as possible. On the long run, such mistakes will be automatically avoided but until then, you have to keep an eye out for them.
