Many internet marketers are well versed in the 'why's' of blogging but they are not as clear on the 'how's' of this medium. At first, you will be intimidated and want to give up or don't even start at all. There is always an upside and the upside about blogging it is easy to learn and you get results relatively fast compared to other methods. Here are some tips to use along with your blogging that will make your business strategy even more powerful. As you may have heard, links are one of the most important ways to build up your site.

Linking at least one of your posts per week to another site can be very helpful. Link to sites on similar topics as yours, but you can also link to sites outside of your niche; either way it helps your site appear up to date. They also increase the likelihood that other sites will link to you, which will help your blog build its page rank in the search engines. Links to other sites also communicates to people that you are not only interested in selling them something, but are also giving them free and useful information.

It can also help you build your online network, a great resource when you want to increase your sales audience. When it's time to choose a theme for your blog, you get to flex your creativity a little. If you want your blog to have a custom design, you'll find lots of companies willing to charge you a fee to create one for you. If you prefer to get your blog started completely free, you're able to choose between millions of free themes available for download.

There are literally thousands if not millions of free themes and templates available to choose from. If you know a little about coding, you can even tweak a free template to make it look custom made.

You can also make use of an Opt-In form and collect your visitors email addresses. This will allow you to contact them directly through e-mail (not the same thing has having a post e-mailed to them) when you have a new idea or need to get their feedback on something.

By staying consistent with adding new content to your blog you will be surprised at how many people will sign up for your list because they want to hear more of what you have to say. And if you didn't know already; in order to become an online elite you must incorporate opt-in lists into your business. It's easy to find plenty of hints and tricks to help you start your own internet marketing blogs.

Once you've built your blog, running it is much less work than some people believe. You might even decide that blogging can be a lot of fun. Blogging is such a malleable medium that it could become a source of enjoyment as well as a way to earn income. Have fun with it!

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Re: How to promote my site - All I can suggest to you is.. if you don't have knowledge in SEO and or in Internet Marketing, you better understand what is SEO first and what it's dos and don'ts.. After you learn in.. Start with the basic SEO techniques: - Web Directories Submission - Classified Ads - Social Bookmarking - Forum Posting - Blogging - Article Submission Then the rest follows..
niche forum categories - I think Kevin just touched on the point that I was going make... and that is developing 'categories' that stick. Sales and Marketing may be too broad for example. However I can almost guarantee you that you would see many more sign-ups if you tailored a category to 'internet marketing' for newbies. I've seen this work on other forums, however, [i:1i903wkn]it can get a little frantic[/i:1i903wkn]... Fine tuning the categories, or expanding the scope should be effective. I think a lot of IM folks are surfing right on by because they're not finding what they're looking for here... Just a few thoughts: Better Blogging Developing Info Products Internet Marketing Presentation Skills More How to's Another point is... a lot of people don't know that they can benefit from participating in forums. The signature links to their site - if they have one - can / should be motivation enough to get more involved. The more internet savvy members that have signatures seem to stick around more... Don't you think?
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
