How To Provide Top Quality Customer Service in Internet Marketing

How do most people decide how they feel about shopping at any store? Most people would answer that it has to do with the people they encounter there and the overall level of customer service! If you think about it, when you decide what stores, restaurants or services to patronize, a lot of it comes down to customer service. Customer service is essential to the success of any business, and this is something that many internet marketers need to learn. Just because online transactions don't involve direct personal contact doesn't mean you can ignore the value of providing great customer service! Here are some ways that you, as an internet marketer, can provide good customer service to your buyers.

Ask your current customers, via email, what they would suggest you do to improve your business. Make sure to tell them you probably won't be able to make every change suggested, but that their opinion is very important to you. The replies you receive will be pretty interesting, in most cases. In fact, you might remind some of the recipients about things they had been meaning to buy from you. In a single email that allows for feedback, you could draw in hundreds of dollars of sales.

When you write sales pages, web pages and send out e-mails, be sure to take the time to make them good. You don't want to have your copy full of spelling or grammatical errors. When visitors see your website or blog, that will be the first impression they have of you. A site full of typos and mistakes may make visitors doubt the quality of your products. If you aren't very good or experienced at writing, find someone who can do it for you! If you go to forums related to freelancing or internet marketing you can find many writers and editors offering their services.

Offer your buyers a way to get in touch with you so that they can ask questions or leave feedback about the products they have just purchased. If there is no obvious way to make contact with you, people are less likely to buy anything from you. If you can't be contacted, visitors will often assume you are a scammer.

You want to provide as much personal service as your customers want. You simply must give people some way to reach you. This does mean a little more effort on your part, but if it means more sales, isn't it worth it? Sometimes it takes that level of personal contact to turn a looker into a buyer.

Practicing good customer service makes for better business. See what kind of customer service is provided by other internet marketers. Internet marketers who don't offer good customer service will see their bottom line suffering. Your business depends on the customers you have, who are real, live people. Don't think of them as money pots. Treating your customers with understanding will create return customers who are happy to continue hiring you.

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.

Re: The Mobile Marketing Re: The Mobile Marketing - Mobile Marketing involves communicating with the consumer via cellular (or mobile) device, either to send a simple marketing message, to introduce them to a new audience participation-based campaign or to allow them to visit a mobile website. Some of the tools of the trade and a few of the concepts that will be featured in this Mobile Marketing 101 series are: Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) Bluetooth, Wireless and Infrared Mobile Internet and Social Media Mobile Applications Mobile connectivity not only enables people to connect to the Internet via a cellular telephone, PDA or other gadget, but also consolidates the different communication channels in a simple, yet effective, medium. Cheaper than traditional means for both the consumer and the marketer - and easy enough for almost any age group to understand and engage with - Mobile Marketing really is a streamlined version of traditional eMarketing.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
