How Web 2.0's Innovative Technologies can Benefit Your Business

Guest post by: Daniel Waser

Article Overview: Web 2.0 is what makes interactive information sharing possible, and without it, the Internet wouldn't provide two way communication. The earlier years of the internet featured a very top-down business model where the large corporately owned websites created the content and the users of the sites viewed it. Web 2.0 has changed that. People have the freedom to voice their opinion, make social connections and interact with any group of people.

How Web 2.0's Innovative Technologies can Benefit Your Business

In recent years, the term Web 2.0 marketing has become a popular term, encompassing a cache of new technologies and developments in the online business world. Since the advent of Web 2.0 and its revolution in the way we talk to each other over the Internet, many changes have taken place. How can your business benefit from this? Make sure you take advantage of these tools to get the word out about your product and reach new markets. This article will examine those questions precisely, and we'll look at the interesting things about Web 2.0 marketing and the ways in which it will revolutionize your business. Most importantly, Web 2.0 is not complicated or problematical; it's actually pretty simple. It merely generates a superior experience in the online world. As technology advances and the Internet becomes more and more accessible, more and more people become tech savvy. Because of this, creating effective marketing to this group has to be increasingly targeted. The communities that Web 2.0 helped create online are very robust and can prove to be a goldmine for anyone who's looking to market to the right audience. The ability of viral marketing to effectively be distributed has become more effortless than ever.

The information flow has changed so much in the last 20 years that people now have more access to whatever they may be looking for, via blogging, comment fields, and syndication feeds. Adding these technologies to many Web 2.0 sites makes them much more interactive and socially stimulating, giving the savvy marketer a wealth of opportunity to experiment with ideas in the marketplace. Web 2.0 marketing gives online marketers a place to expose their products via targeted content and then allows the audience to not only read about but discuss that product. The innate freedom that comes with Web 2.0 marketing has helped people create and grow their own businesses.

Now, looking specifically at commenting online, for instance, let us examine what Web 2.0 marketing can do for your internet business. Clearly, few would argue that new and exciting content is constantly being sought out by our favorite search engines. When the content on your site is regularly updated, it is more likely to be picked up by the search engines. The comments that you get from people on your site, will serve as new content that you didn't even create yourself. RSS feeds are also beneficial, as they allow someone to subscribe to your website and stay up to date on any new content you have added. This translates to return customers. Submitting your RSS feeds to RSS directories will give you more backlinks, and this will also increase your search engine standings. This means you'll not only get direct traffic from your feeds but also organic traffic from the search engines.

Your online marketing strategy will be significantly enhanced by complementing your current efforts with a Web 2.0 plan. You will gather a greater advantage over your competitors and generate a hardy rapport with your audience.

Re: What or Who Sparks Your Business Interest Re: What or Who Sparks Your Business Interest - It's interesting to see what the different motivations are by Age Category. I've noticed this around me: 20 to 29yr olds: Motivator: Money 30 to 39yr olds: Motivator: Success/Ambition 40 to 49yr olds: Motivator: Family comes first 50 to 59yr olds: Motivator: Leaving a legacy i've only gone that far in my analysis. Of course this is a braid generalization but I find that it helps direct my marketing to individuals in different age brackets. The product/service can be the same but the Marketing message (Benefit Statement) to a 20 year will revolve around "Money" vs. a 30-something would be on their "Self Image"
